This recently renovated coach house promises a memorable stay for those who appreciate the charm of antiques and the allure of eclectic design. It offers a comfortable retreat for couples or groups of friends. The property is located behind the owner’s house but is totally separate with lovely countryside views. Stone in Oxney is a peaceful locale surrounded by footpaths and trails, perfect for walkers and cyclists – with the Saxon Shore Way passing through the parish. Watch out for kingfishers and moorhens along the Royal Military Canal and the croaking of the “laughing frog” in the Romney Marsh. Appledore has a convenience store and tearoom (2.5 miles) and the ancient town of Rye is 6 miles away. Camber Sands offers a beautiful stretch of golden beach and iconic sand dunes (9 miles), and Tenterden (7 miles) has a tree-lined high street full of restaurants and bars, a taproom and the Kent and East Sussex Railway.

Step into the heart of this property and you are instantly welcomed by a country-style kitchen/dining room which has a functional dresser loaded with everyday crockery. A dining table sits in the middle of the room, perfectly positioned for chatting and dining. The kitchen is well-equipped and has everything you will need for preparing group meals. The living room has large windows which let natural light flood in and is decorated with carefully curated antiques, selected to add character. In addition, there are two sofas and a winged armchair, and a Smart TV and there is a snug corner with a writing desk and chair, perfect for quiet reading or studying. On the ground floor, there is a cloakroom with washbasin and WC. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, two doubles and the third has a small double bed, suitable only for one person. The master bedroom has a door which opens onto the external staircase platform with far-reaching views across the fields. All rooms offer a unique décor, which tell their own story. The bathroom is modern with a shower, washbasin, and WC.

Outside, there is a courtyard area offering the perfect blend of rustic nostalgia and creative charm, with a table and chairs for al fresco dining and evenings around the fire pit.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Coach House. It's beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Very comfortable beds and spacious bedrooms. A good location for visiting Chapel Down Winery and Rye, which was our reason for the trip. We also liked the outdoor area for a drink in the spring evening. The only issue on our trip was that the InteRead morernet wasn't working, which meant we couldn't use the smart TV provided. But if that is fixed, it's a perfect stay. Hide
