This classic Sussex cottage is the perfect countryside getaway for four, and its location in the heart of the village of Brede puts the countryside at your fingertips whilst also making shops and pubs only a short walk away. Whilst surrounded by the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you're still only 7 miles from the vibrantly historic town of Hastings.

With unique, traditional doors and exposed wooden beams, this home is a true reminder that you're on a countryside break. Delicately decorated in soft whites and stylish grey, you'll feel completely at home from the moment you step through the door. After a long day of exploring Sussex, you can curl up on the sofa in front of the glorious open fire or sink into the comfortable double bed or one of the twin beds on the first floor via the cottage-style stairs. The well-equipped kitchen space is perfect for rustling up a late breakfast or romantic evening meal, and the open-plan dining space makes sitting down to a meal nice and easy. Outside, the patio area is picture-perfect with flowers and greenery and has an outdoor dining set for summer evenings and eating alfresco.

Head to the tranquil Sussex town of Westfield, where just 3 miles from the property, you can tour a vineyard and enjoy amazing food and wine. Heading a little further afield, Hastings is only 7 miles away. Here you can discover the glorious Old Town, explore the castle ruins and look round the beautiful 17th century home of Rudyard Kipling, before relaxing on the golden sands of Hastings Beach. Fancy staying a little closer to home? In Brede, you're surrounded by impressive High Weald walks. In fact, you're only 2 miles from the starting point of the popular 6-mile circular Doleham Walk.

Such a pretty cottage. Low head heights so caution booking if you are tall! We loved our mini break and not only was it dog friendly there was a super cute bowl and treat waiting for our pooch on arrival. A lovely touch from the owners

Very clean and well equipped cottage. The location was very central to all the areas we wanted to visit. Lovely welcome gifts, including treats for our dog. The cottage garden was secure for our dog. Wonderful food at the Red Lion pub next door., and they allowed us to use their car park. Absolutely loved our holiday at Clare Cottage.

Clare cottage is a very comfortable well equipped property. Beams are low. I am 5ft 7in and had to bend when coming down stairs and through doors. Lovely court yard garden which is secure for your fur baby. Ideal base with plenty of places to visit.

Although a delightful property there are obvious limitations that place statutory obligation to a designated grade listed dwelling. The dwelling was obviously suited to height as it was in the previous 2 centuries. My height is ( old money ) 6 feet and 3 inches and is a no brainer ( pun not intended ) in terms of mobility. To be fair there is a heiRead moreght notice at the foot of the stairs. In terms of perspective booking it would be best practice to alert one to height restriction. Thank you. Hide
