This property is located in the lands of a country house and is surrounded by 30 acres of grounds, including two ponds, in the village of Burwash. The village itself is small and rural with a popular pub. Within a 30 minute drive are two attractive towns, Lewes to the south and Tunbridge Wells to the north. Lewes has a quirky, artsy feel with many independent shops, a range of places to eat and its own brewery. Tunbridge Wells is an elegant town famous for its Pantiles, a gorgeous Georgian colonnade of shops and restaurants.

This lovely cottage was once the home of the chauffeur to the family who lived in the main house. A few steps lead up to the front door, which opens into the hall of the house. The lounge is a pleasant place to relax with its views across the pond and surrounding fields. This room has an open fire, sofa, TV, DVD player and a selection of family games. The large kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also an alcove with kitchen table and seating for six. Two bedrooms are located on the ground floor, one with a king-size bed and views across the fields, the other with a single bed which is located down two steps off the kitchen with views to the pond. The main bathroom is on this floor too, with a shower over the bath. Steep winding stairs lead to the first floor where there are two further bedrooms. One has a single bed and views to the pond, whilst the other can be made up as either two twin beds or a double; this room has its own TV with DVD player and an en-suite bathroom with hand-held shower over bath.

The cottage benefits from a quiet, private garden with a pond, garden table, benches, chairs and a BBQ. Please beware that, due to the unfenced pond, children must be supervised at all times in the garden. There is parking for two cars.

A lovely cottage, weve now been there two years running meeting up with friends for a great weekend. A great rural location, handy for some lovely walks, a few miles from Sheffield Park (NT) very relaxing. Thank you.

This is a lovely and comfortable English cottage at a great location. Nice garden and full privacy. The owners are easily accesable and very friendly. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome with cake and wine. We stayed here for a week with the four of us and enjoyed the coast walks, Rye, Lewes, Hastings and London (by train from Buxted)

A warm and comfortable property, well equipped with all conveniences. The setting is outstanding, on the edge of the lake and spring flowers bringing bright colour to the landscape. The nights are virtually silent, a much appreciated amenity by our party.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. The cottage was clean and homely. The linen was clean and of high quality. The owners left us some cake and a bottle of wine which I thought was a wonderful touch.

Lovely, comfortable well-appointed cottage. Perfect layout for our family group of six spanning 3 generations. Set in a beautiful, quiet location with a generous private garden, plenty of secure parking and overlooking a private lake. Perfect for sitting outside, including hosting a very special family reunion of 8 elderly relatives! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chauffeurs Cottage. It is set in beautiful & peaceful surroundings. We loved the chickens that ranged through the gardens daily. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed to cater for ourselves. It is a great base for access to National Trust gardens and Ashdown Forest and there are shops withiRead moren a reasonable drive. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We hope to visit again. Beautiful location. Ideal for getting away from it all in the Countryside. A lovely house in a stunning setting. With a small group of friends we had a perfect weekend with meals around the kitchen table, drinks on the lawn or breakfast on the picnic bench next to the pond. Thank you so much.
