Holiday Cottages in Sandhurst Kent

Sandhurst with its well known restored smock windmill and vineyards that produce a popular selection of wines is perfectly located for exploring the rest of both kent and Sussex.

Just over the border 2 miles away in the heart of 1066 Country is Bodiam. A small village that boasts one of the finest castles in Sussex. Dating back to the late fourteenth century, Bodiam Castle is an exquisite example of a late medieval moated fort. Now looked after by the National Trust it makes for an interesting day out with special events being staged throughout the year. The villages other claim to fame is its long association with the hop growing industry with hops being grown here for Guinness in the 19th century. A Railway line was built for transporting the hops and in recent years has been restored and is now a popular tourist attraction with steam trains running from Bodiam to the Kent town of Tenterden. There are also river trips available on a charming ferry boat along the river Rother to Newenden.
