Bramley & Teal Press Reviews

House and Garden - Catch of the day

The people at Bramley and Teal only feature the sort of residences on their books that they would be happy to stay in themselves. A number of these are at Camber Sands, near the charming town of Rye in East Sussex, where five miles of golden, sandy beach are overlooked by dunes. The town itself has cosy pubs and gourmet restaurants, and you can stock up on homemade food from the Rye Deli and fresh fish straight from the local fishing fleet, sold at the quayside. The Rye Bay scallops Festival in February is a must. If you don’t feel like cooking, a cook can be easily arranged for private dinners. You can spend winter days walking on the beach, or browsing the antiques shops, art galleries and characterful boutiques. Choose from a selection of contemporary furnished two or three bedroom houses where prices for a weekend in low season start at £195. A week in a luxurious three bedroom eco houses costs £1,100 in high season.
