The South east, including the counties of Waterford and Wexford, is reputed to be one of the sunniest areas with some of the most stunning sandy beaches, perfect for families and watersports lovers alike. The coastal regions are framed by rolling hills and craggy mountains offering a wealth of opportunity for those who love to explore on foot. Historical towns such as Norman Wexford and Viking Waterford as well as the quaint smaller villages always have a wonderful welcoming atmosphere, perfect for enjoying the traditional Irish spirit. Tipperary is Ireland's largest inland county, the north bordered by the stunning Lough Derg, a great place for serious anglers and the South enjoying lush valleys and a landscape enriched by the Galtee Mountains and the mystical Slievenamon.
