Holiday cottages and self-catering accommodation in Chichester

The cathedral city of Chichester in Sussex is possibly one of the most beautiful in the country, and is the ideal location for a self-catering holiday or a charming city break. Choose from among one of our wonderful holiday lets and home from homes to experience what Chichester and this corner of West Sussex have to offer for yourself.

Home to some of the oldest churches and buildings in the UK, it offers a host of theatres, museums and art galleries. It has spectacular architecture, including the 12th century Chichester Cathedral, which is unusual in that it has its own bell tower separate from the main church.

There is an abundance of antique shops and museums to be found in Chichester, including the Novium Museum, built above the remains of a Roman bath house, and various others within the ancient city walls. If that isn’t enough, the Fishbourne Roman Palace and Gardens is an outstanding example of archaeology and a first-century home and shouldn’t be missed.

The famous Chichester Festival takes place over the summer and glorious Goodwood is just down the road, as well as opera at Glyndebourne, polo at Cowdray Park and various impressive castles to visit such as Arundel and, further afield in East Sussex, Herstmonceux and Bodiam. If your interest is more maritime based, you can pop over to Chichester Harbour which offers sailing trips or slightly further to Portsmouth, where the Mary Rose Museum and HMS Victory are stationed. Pretty little fishing villages and sandy beaches surround Chichester and its area as well as some of the prettiest countryside on the south coast with trails and walks for all levels.

Take a look at our full collection of Chichester holiday cottages above and find even more inspiration for your perfect city break amongst our self-catering accommodation.
