Located on the main road on the outskirts of Hurst Green, this former farmhouse and coaching inn is perfect for large families or groups of friends. It’s ideally located to make the most of the surrounding Sussex countryside and being in the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, makes an excellent choice for keen walkers with or without dogs, with fantastic footpaths and plenty of charming villages for a well-earned pub lunch. Hurst Green is centrally located to give easy access to bustling Tunbridge Wells, only half an hour away by car, where you can find a wide selection of restaurants, bars and shops, as well as the historic houses, gardens and vineyards in abundance in this area, and south to the coastal resorts of Hastings, Eastbourne and Rye.

An elegant reception hall welcomes you into this lavish house and guides you through to the bar area. Once the original bar when the property was a coaching inn and now it's a fun and special area for entertaining, this space boasts an open fireplace, comfortable sofas, bookcases, a portable Bluetooth speaker, behind the bar, a fridge and all the equipment you need to make cocktails. The contemporary kitchen beyond is light and bright with an elegant French-style table and chairs, with seating for ten, and views over the garden. Here you will find everything that you need for creating delicious family meals. In a separate hall area, you will find a downstairs bathroom with a shower and WC, and a separate utility room with a washing machine, dryer and WC. Once you have prepared your evening meals, head to the grand dining room to enjoy your meal, which has original Georgian wall panels, 1950s Murano chandeliers, oil paintings, a fireplace and a table to seat ten. After dinner, retreat to the opulent drawing room where guests can relax on the sofas and chairs alongside the roaring wood burner. Adorned with luxurious fabrics and stylish artwork, this is an elegant and calming space in which to relax in front of the 55” Smart TV/DVD. Upstairs on the first floor, the five bedrooms have been well furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and contemporary furniture. There is one bedroom at the front of the property, which has a super-king-size bed, and Smart TV for those lazy mornings. There is a further bedroom with a super-king size bed, and two more bedrooms on this floor featuring king-size beds. The final bedroom has twin beds. All bedrooms share two bathrooms with WC and underfloor heating, one of which has a sumptuous separate shower cubicle, and the other with a shower over bath.

Outside, the garden has four different areas to enjoy. There is a patio area outside the kitchen, perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon BBQ, while French windows from the lounge open onto a large area bordered by an olive tree, where you’ll find rattan tables, sofas and chairs, perfect for evening drinks. There is a hot tub in which to relax and enjoy the views across the lawns and an elevated pergola with a wooden garden table and chairs that offer breath-taking views across the countryside, while on the opposite side of the garden two lounge chairs are perfect for an afternoon snooze.

Please note there is an additional charge of £100 for the use of the hot tub which can be paid directly to the house manager on arrival

Lovely house with a lovely garden. The bedrooms were all comfortable and there was plenty of space in the lounge and the dining room. The kitchen was very well equipped.
