The village is home to several shops, as well as, a tearoom and bistro style restaurant. Just outside the village is Biddenden Vineyard, open daily to the public, this is a lovely place to wander around, before a visit to the shop for wine tasting and refreshments. Sissinghurst Castle, once home to poet and keen gardener, Vita Sackville-West, is within a ten minute drive of the property.

Enter the cottage through the side door, which opens into the welcoming kitchen area, with all the equipment you would expect, including electric oven and hob, small dishwasher, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. There is also a table suitable for two people to dine at, with lovely views across the lake. A door leads from the kitchen to the main lounge and sleeping area, which has large sliding doors, giving access directly onto the lakeside decked area. There is a sofa, TV and DVD and an iPod dock. The bed also overlooks the lake, making it a joy to enjoy a coffee in bed whilst enjoying the view. At the far end of the lounge is the bathroom with a walk in shower.

Outside, the lake and its secluded decked area provide a beautiful place to while away an afternoon with a book, with its table, chairs and sun loungers. There is driveway parking for one vehicle.

This is a very sweet holiday cottage in a peaceful location. The cottage is pretty with a very large comfortable bed and a shower room with a large, powerful shower. The kitchen is ample for 2 people and well equipped. Patio doors give a beautiful view of the garden with waterfall from the bed. Transport is needed to reach the nearest village so weRead more tended to stay out for longer days and bring food back to cook evening meals. It is just so nice to cosy up there and enjoy a good book and relax. Hide

Quarterdeck Cottage is really well appointed and the view over the lake from the windows is superb. Our host was very welcoming and guided us in by phone, as we arrived very late due to holdups en-route. We were able to see a Kingfisher helping itself from the lake and a Woodpecker eating from the busy bird feeder. We intend to stay there again in Read morethe future. Easy access to the coast and many National Trust properties in the Weald. Can't fault our stay! Hide

An absolutely beautiful location spoilt by the lack of privacy and the owners and neighbours dogs being allowed to access the cottage terrace and drool as you eat!

Very nice chalet-style cottage adjacent to large lake/pond. Quiet and peaceful adjacent to beautiful countryside. Not too far and not too close to amenities. Comfortable and cosy.

The cottage was clean well equipped and a really nice setting. The pond and garden added made the whole place a very attractive setting. The location was perfect for what wanted to do. Only a short drive from Sissinghurst and Great Dixter. Would recommend
