This exceptionally pretty cottage is situated in the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just south of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, it is an idyllic spot for couples or a small family looking for a relaxing retreat in the Sussex countryside.

This elegant cottage with its simple yet stylish decor offers a calm and welcoming space. There is a lovely dining area downstairs with charming pieces of period furniture and a cosy sofa for two at one end. The adjacent well-equipped kitchen is clean and fresh with bright blue wall tiles and has everything you could need for some home cooking while you are away. Also downstairs is a pretty king-size bedroom that overlooks the lovely garden and has a spacious en-suite bathroom. Upstairs on the first floor is a lovely, light and airy lounge with clean, fresh decor and splashes of colour. The wooden floor, comfy sofas and an electric fire ensure some cosy evenings in. Also upstairs, is another relaxing king-size bedroom, tastefully decorated and with a light and airy en-suite. Outside, the beautifully tended cottage garden is a delight. Enjoy a refreshing drink on the patio and take in the lovely view of the fields beyond before lighting the BBQ for an al fresco meal.

The cottage is within easy reach of some lovely walks in the High Weald AONB. With the picturesque town of Rye just 11 miles away, days at the coast are also an option. The beautiful house and gardens at Great Dixter (5 miles), once the home of the gardening writer Christopher Lloyd, are well worth a visit for the horticulturally-minded. Alternatively, take a drive to the historic village of Battle (6 miles), named for the famous battle of 1066 where you can visit the ruined Abbey of St Martin and enjoy a stroll around the shops and restaurants.

Just spent a week at Wisteria Cottage, we had a great time, owners welcoming, and next door if you needed anything. The welcome goodies were very much appreciated. Everything we needed was on hand. Plenty of cooking utensils, if like us you cook most of our meals. Beds really comfy, no trouble sleeping. Ideal location, especially for National TrustRead more properties. Would have no hesitation in recommending it. Hide

We were very impressed with this delightful house. The owners have done everything they can to ensure a comfortable stay. Beautiful garden too and also a very thoughtful welcome pack of goodies and a lovely bunch of roses. Excellent location for walking and places of interest. Very quiet too. Would definitely recommend.

The property was spacious, very nicely furnished and had a stunning view from the upstairs lounge. A homemade cake and bottle of the in-house apple juice welcomed us on our arrival..

This cottage was just what we wanted. Elderly relative took the downstairs bedroom and en-suite, which gave them access to kitchen/diner as required, without needing to tackle stairs. Upstairs lounge and room with en-suite were extremely comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Location means own transport needed, however it was delightful.
