Need a cosy getaway with your other half, where you can take long walks through the rolling hills of Kent followed by quiet evenings in by the wood burner? This sweet brick cottage for two is the perfect spot. It's in Tenterden, a traditional market town which is the starting point for many wonderful walks in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It's perfect for a couples' holiday, and you can take two dogs along too – they'll love the garden and surrounding countryside almost as much as you (and possibly more).

This homely brick house sits in a row of similar houses. The inside is decorated in a vintage-inspired style, with traditional furniture and tasteful artwork on the walls. After a day out exploring the area, nestle into the sofa and relax with a film on the Smart TV, which includes the Sky package for plenty of choice. On a sunny morning, make a cooked breakfast using local ingredients and take it out into the cottage-style garden to be enjoyed in the fresh air. There's even a quaint summer house – in brick to match the main house – to be enjoyed.

Tenterden has three lovely pubs within half a mile of the cottage, as well as independent shops and restaurants where you can eat out if you don't fancy cooking. For walks you'll be spoilt for choice – you're right on the edge of High Weald, an AONB. The 2.5-mile stretch to Small Hythe is ideal for a morning jog. For a day out, head to Rye (10 miles), famous for its old town and antiques shops, or Camber (14.5 miles) where you can swim in the sea and picnic among the sand dunes.

  • 1 double bedroom
  • 1 bathroom with bath and over the bath shower and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, Nespresso Original coffee machine, washer/dryer and freezer in the Summer house
  • Wood burner (logs not provided)
  • Smart TV with Sky package in the Lounge and bedroom (including Sky Movies and Sky Sports)
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Charcoal BBQ, garden furniture and Summer house with table and chairs
  • Parking available at the rear of the property, parking permit available
  • Shops, pubs and restaurants within walking distance
  • Arrival: 15:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 3 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week

Pocket Cottage is extremely well equipped. Its very compact but so cute and the location was fantastic. Dog walking was amazing. I would definitely return here as we didnt scratch the surface of the long list of eateries in Tenterden. The Italian just at the end of the road was probably the best weve had! We loved our stay at Pocket Cottage; two of us and our dog. The cottage was cosy and had everything we could possibly need including a comfy bed, Sky TV, comfortable sitting room and a secure courtyard to sit and have a cuppa. The location of the cottage was fab - the lovely high st on our doorstop which had a great mix of dog friendly shops, cafesRead more, restaurants and pubs, Tesco literally a 40 second walk and many places to visit nearby eg Rye, Dungeness. Would highly recommend and will return. Hide
