Stunning property providing stylishly finished accommodation for up to four guests, enjoying a prime location in the pretty market town of Rye.

This stylish, former fisherman’s cottage is perfect for a holiday close to the seaside. Rye is a delightful market town that offers plenty of activities for couples and families. The town has a wealth of independent shops and a fine selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs, all within 500 metres of the cottage. Camber Sands is just 3 miles away and is perfect for families.

With its gentle shelving sandy beach as well as a variety of water sports including windsurfing and kitesurfing, it makes for a great day out. Why not take a trip to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and enjoy a bike ride along the coast to Winchelsea Beach (3.3 miles)? Or nearby is the town of Hastings (10 miles), which is home to the country’s oldest funicular railway and a host of family activities. The front door of this beautiful property opens into the hallway where there is space for dropping off coats and shoes before heading into the comfortably furnished lounge/diner that features a sofa, armchair and a window seat arranged around a wood burner and Smart TV. A large dining table with seating for all offers the perfect place for relaxed family meals. An archway from the dining area leads through into the well-equipped kitchen that has everything you will need for whipping up a delicious meal including a range-style oven with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Dualit Expressivo ground coffee machine and microwave. Beyond the kitchen is a utility area with a washing machine and a separate cloakroom with WC. Heading up to the first floor, there are two bedrooms: a king-size and a twin. The property is completed with a beautiful bathroom that features a stunning roll top copper bath (just perfect for a long hot soak), a walk-in shower and a WC.

Outside at the rear of the cottage, you'll discover a small patio that is a wonderful sun trap that offers comfortable seating which can be enjoyed throughout the day. Pizza oven available on request. The front of the cottage is just 20 metres from the river with views of the quay and boats. There is private parking at the front of the property for either one large car or two small cars.

Sarah is a perfect host, was helpful with information on taxis and pubs. The cottage was beautiful, quirky, well equipped and thoughtfully decorated. The weather wasn't the best, so we are hoping to return in better weather. Thank you for a lovely, very relaxing stay. X

This cottage is in an ideal location for exploring Rye and the surrounding areas. The cottage is beautifully furnished and has everything you need for a lovely stay. We loved our stay in the cottage, very well equipped with everything you could need and beautifully decorated. We really appreciated all the thougtful little welcome gifts left by the owner. The real fire is a wonderful bonus in the winter. The location is fantastic, a few minutes walk to the main street in Rye. We will definitely be back.

Sarah was a wonderful host who corresponded with us and gave us lots of information about the location and the cottage. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is very well equipped with everything we needed and located a short walk to all the attractions, shops, pubs etc. Free parking was also a bonus. We had a lovely stay in a lovely cottage.

Lovely cottage and excellent location for the town. If youre taking dogs, the garden is a courtyard with paving. There are walks for dogs around you and along the canal. Lovely stay with my grandchildren and two little dogs. Had some great days out, including Battle, Hastings and Camber sands. The cottage had everything we could possibly need. Only criticism was the outside space, a bit gloomy . Loved the rustic taste of the interior though

Pretty cottage well stocked with goodies and a bottle of Prosseco waiting in the fridge along with cake . All mod equipment in kitchen Lovey touch of flowers in the bedrooms, furnishings all very tasteful and thoughtful.. Good to be so near the town .

We had a fabulous week. The location in town was excellent for visiting the pubs and shops. The beds were super comfortable and the house was homely and very well equipped with lots of lovely little touches. The welcome pack was very well received and was a thoughtful touch. We stayed at the cottage for almost a week and loved everything. It looks exactly like the photos, very clean and with all amenities you may need and want. The decor is beautiful with lots of lovely touches. The road next to the cottage can be a bit busy especially in the morning, but it is not terrible, overall great location in Rye.

Riverside Cottage is a beautiful home from home. The cottage is well kept with lots of character and has everything for your stay. It is in the centre of the village Rye and in walking distance to the shops cafe's and pubs. Very dog friendly. The area as lots of walks and places to explore.

We really loved this holiday home. It was spacious and well equipt. Kitchen was great for cooking in and had everything you would need. The house has a lovely feel to it and is nicely decorated with lots of pretty things. The bed was very comfortable and had a lovely view over the river. A delightful little cottage in a great location. We were only there for three nights, and we didnt see very much of the surroundings because of the really cold wind. But, in warmer weather this really is a first class location and the cottage has everything you need and more, bread, butter, milk, cake and other goodies including fresh flowers.
