A great base for exploring all that Sussex has to offer, with the Cuckoo Trail, a 14-mile footpath and cycleway which runs from Hampden Park to Heathfield that’s perfect for seeing the local countryside, or hop in the car for a trip to the nearby towns of Heathfield (4 miles) and Battle (13 miles), which offers boutique shopping and the opportunity to visit the famous Battle Abbey.
Inside, the hut has been decorated to evoke a cosy and romantic feel. The kitchen is equipped for you to make delicious light meals and the dining table and seating offer an ideal spot for enjoying a romantic meal or a game of cards in front of the wood burner on chilly evenings. The double bed sits at one end of the hut where you can enjoy delightful countryside views when you wake up in the morning, and a separate shepherd’s hut offers a shower room and a compost toilet.
Stepping outside you are truly at one with nature and spectacular countryside views can be enjoyed from the patio table and chairs. Light the charcoal BBQ for some tasty outside dining and as the day draws to a close, there is a delightful fire pit for toasting marshmallows under the dark skies.
