This charming countryside retreat, perfect for couples and small families, is part of a row of former railway worker cottages, with the train station nearby that offers easy access to Rye, Hastings and beyond. Located on the edge of Winchelsea, the centre of this pretty town is less than a mile away and offers a welcoming pub and local shop for picking up dinner ingredients. Keen walkers will be spoilt for choice with an abundance of footpaths that meander across the rolling Sussex countryside. Families can enjoy a trip to nearby Winchelsea Beach (2 miles) with its the gentle shelving beach and ancient petrified forest which is visible at low tide. Also nearby is the market town of Rye (3 miles) which offers many independent shops and restaurants - the perfect place for whiling away an afternoon exploring the antique shops or enjoying an afternoon tea. For those who want to explore further afield, take a trip to nearby Hastings (9 miles) where family-friendly seaside attractions await.

Step inside the front door where a warm welcome awaits, and a small hallway offers space for dropping off coats and shoes before heading through to the cosy lounge. Light the wood burner on chilly evenings and curl up with the family in front of the Smart TV to catch up on your favourite shows or just relax with a good book after a busy day. From the lounge, head through to the dining area which adjoins the kitchen - an ideal space to gather everyone for dinner or to enjoy an evening of board games. The light and bright kitchen enjoys spectacular views and is well-equipped with everything you need for creating delicious family meals, while the crowning glory of the ground floor is a stunning garden room which links the lounge and kitchen. This is the perfect spot for relaxing with a morning coffee and savouring the spectacular views, where a handy set of binoculars enables you to keep watch on the local wildlife - there is also a further dining table and chairs for those who wish to eat here. When day turns to night, head upstairs where two delightful bedrooms await – a king-size room and a welcoming bunk bedroom, both served by a well-appointed shower room with a walk-in shower.

Outside, take in the glorious surroundings from the spacious, lawned garden where children and dogs will love playing in the sun. On warm evenings, gather at the gravelled patio to enjoy alfresco meals using the charcoal BBQ and seating that await.

Lovely quiet cottage, great garden for dog to play in. Good walks from the front door. Lane leading to cottage is uneven and when we were there very wet wither water filled pot holes. But easily navigated in a normal car.
