This cottage is attached to another holiday property in the village of Newchurch, 3 miles west of Dymchurch in one of the oldest parts of Romney Marsh. The village has a 12th-century church as well as a restaurant and makes for an excellent base for walking, cycling and bird watching, including along the Royal Military Canal. Climb aboard the miniature railway at Hythe (8 miles) and take a trip to the shingle headland at Dungeness or catch a steam train from Tenterden (15 miles) to the ancient castle at Bodiam. Port Lympne Safari Park is 7 miles away and the Eurotunnel and Dover are within easy reach for channel crossings.
The cottage retains many of its original beams and the open-plan lounge/dining area/kitchen includes a comfortable sofa, an armchair and a TV as well as a dining table and chairs. The ground-floor bathroom features a bath with a hand-held shower attachment. Head up the carpeted stairs, which have a handrail, to the first of the bedrooms – a double with a TV, and a sink unit with a kettle for a morning cuppa, as well as Velux windows with blackout blinds. There are also two single bedrooms, one with a 2’6” bed that is more suitable for a child. There is also a shower room on this floor.
The property has its own private patio area in a garden shared with the owners, that has countryside views that stretch for miles. Along with patio furniture, you have a BBQ at your disposal. Please note, the owners have a friendly dog who often likes to say hello.
