Situated in the gorgeous East Sussex countryside, this property is in the heart of Holbeam Wood Farm, located between the villages of Wadhurst and Ticehurst, just 2 miles away in each direction, making it the ideal getaway for a family or group of friends looking for a rural breakaway. Spend a tranquil day out at the beautiful gardens of Sissinghurst located just 12 miles away or tee off at the Dale Hill golf course just 3 miles away. For 11 acres of delightful gardens, take a trip to Pashley Manor Gardens (3.5 miles). The National Trust’s Bodiam Castle, a 14th-century moated castle, is well worth a visit and lies just 10 miles away. A range of activities - including water sports, fishing, walking and cycling – can be found at Bewl Water, 7.5 miles away.

This property is packed with charm from the moment you step through the front door. The spacious open-plan living area features wooden flooring and spotlights in the ceiling. Plenty of comfortable seating is arranged around a wood burner and TV. A large wooden table with chairs provides a sociable dining space. The neutral, relaxing colour scheme flows through to the bright and airy kitchen. With panoramic views over the surrounding countryside, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows, the master king-size bedroom provides an inviting space to relax. From here you can head straight out on to the terrace. A sizeable bathroom with bath and a bath and separate shower completes the layout of this floor. Heading upstairs, there are two bedrooms under the eaves. The cosy single with wooden furniture and a tub chair, leads through to a twin. Here you’ll find a comfy tub chair, rustic chest of drawers and fire escape door.

The raised terrace area is ideally situated for taking in the spectacular rural views while enjoying a drink or meal alfresco.

  • The farmyard is adjacent to the property so there may occasionally be some noise from farm vehicles. Shoots on the farm are also organised on a few Saturday mornings from October to January
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards

Lovely cottage, lovely location, perfect for grandparents and three grandchildren. One of the best properties we have stayed in. We would happily go again.

We just loved Dairy Cottage. It's warm and comfortable and has everything you need. It's a marvellous location with a great view. The log burner is the icing on the cake - lovely evening by the fire.

We booked this property to attend a local wedding, being 5 of us plus a dog it was difficult to stay at the venue. We found the property to be in an excellent location, close to local villages but also in the countryside. The view was incredible and we could walk straight out to Bewl Water from the property, walking in the area was lovely too with Read morelots of footpath off road. The property was very welcoming, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you. Hide

Lovely cottage, very comfortable and clean. Location was exactly what we needed ( we felt miles away from home but intact we had only driven 30 miles ) !

Lovely short Easter break, perfect choice with a view to die for. Cottage is comfortable and homely, wood burner a real treat and great hosts. Bed lovely!

WOW! What a fabulous place to stay , very comfortable, loved the walks albeit they were very muddy! We loved The Ball and The Bell pubs, great food and drink. Very peaceful, loved the wood burner, bed very comfy. Thank you so much, sand hope to see you again very soon.

Many thanks. We has a sad reason to be here-my Mum`s funeral, but it has been very uplifting to look out the window and see the pheasants and countryside. Do leave a few when you come to shoot them! They are fun. The logs were lovely on the fire and kept us very warem.

We want to thank you for organising our trip to Dairy Cottage, it was all very last minute! We also want to thank Jane for being a wonderful host. We wanted to upload a review, but as we can't do that directly we've forwarded it on to you. We had a wonderful short break at Dairy Cottage over the May Bank Holiday. Jane is a great host, we got a vRead moreery warm welcome. The cottage has been put together with a lot of thought and is well kitted out. The location is wonderful. At the top of a valley, the views are beautiful with no one overlooking the property. Ticehurst and Wadhurst are both beautiful villages, with great pubs, delis etc. There's also Bewl water, as well as Bodiam castle, Battle, Hastings - so masses to do within 30 mins drive. The cottage is a real find. Highly recommended. Hide

An enjoyable stay. Beds were first class and all slept soundly. Enjoyed the views and the wildlife as well as all the local NT places-Scotney, Batemans, Chartwell etc. Thanks for letting our daughter and partner stop for the day so we could all be together for the Queens state funeral on Monday. We were visiting the area around the cottage for a weekend and it was the perfect place to come to every evening after a long day looking at castles.It was amazing being so far away from the city. The great nature around, and all the pheasants. We really enjoyed our time here with some lovely walks.
