This first-floor apartment sleeps four in two bedrooms and offers a modern escape, with a latter-day oast house look outside. It’s centrally located in the charming Kent town of Broadstairs, so you don’t have to go far to find things to do. The sandy beach is 100 metres away for bracing swims and sandcastle action. Or head to the green space of Victoria Gardens and mini golf over the road. Dickens is big in Broadstairs, and Dickens House Museum is around the corner, explaining his connection to this town and area. Get a culture fix at Turner Contemporary art gallery in Margate, 4 miles away, or take the kids to Dreamland amusement park there. Still on the coast, but 2.5 miles in the other direction, Ramsgate has more seaside delights and is also home to the tunnels used to shelter thousands during the war.

Upon entering this first-floor flat, you’ll be struck by how light and airy it is, which is helped by the light wood-effect laminate flooring throughout. All rooms here lead off a central hallway and where better to start than with the open-plan sitting/dining room and kitchen? The cosy corner sofa unit looks at south-facing French doors which open onto a wrought iron balustrade. The kitchen and dining area make self-catering easy with all mod cons and a lovely table seating four in comfort behind the lounge area. There’s a twin bedroom and a double bedroom which has its own en-suite shower room, plus there’s a shared bathroom with a bath for those holiday soaks.

This flat doesn’t come with its own outdoor space, but with the beach just at the end of the road, you can get your fill of fresh air, sand and family fun. Failing that, there are green spaces around, including Victoria Gardens. You can walk along East Cliff Promenade to neighbouring beaches too.

  • Designated parking space outside property

  • Children will need to be supervised around the balustrade if the French windows are open

This apartment looks exactly in real life as it does online and the location is unbeatable, right near the centre of town with super easy access to all the bars, cafes and restaurants, the beachfront and walking distance to the railway station. The apartment itself and the bedding etc was clean and there was plenty of equipment to keep the place clRead moreean during your stay. What we didnt love was the lack of attention to detail and design. Theres lots of kitchenware but most of it had to be cleaned before it could be used, the coffee pot surface is peeling and theres so much clutter in the kitchen, we had a to clear space for our own food and theres very little prep space for cooking. The sofa is overlarge for the space so its impossible to have the table fully set up all the time as it impedes access. The towels are clean but washed within an inch of their lives, dry and scratchy. The main bedroom door opens right across the path of the door to the ensuite so cant be left open. The ensuite shower has very limited adjustment with only one adjuster for both pressure and temperature and sprays across the cubicle, not downwards. These may all be small things individually, but theres a lot of them. If you are staying for a short period and out a lot, theyre probably not an issue. We stayed for a fortnight and these things were annoying. Overall, was it a comfortable apartment in a great location? Yes. Did we love it. No. Would we stay here again? The jury is out. Hide

An excellent flat right in the heart of Broadstairs, only a couple of hundred metres from the sea front. All the facilities you could need and the contact from the owner to introduce himself was a lovely personal touch. Although the entrance has stairs we would still recomend this property very highly. We hope to return next year.

If you want a comfortable holiday near the beach, and near the night life, this is definitely it! No doubt it could be too noisy for some, but that's because Broadstairs has a lot to offer, and this holiday home is right in there! Go on water gala week if you have kids! Broadstairs still has a proper sand castle competition, live music into the nigRead moreht and fireworks all at the Gala and all for free. Hide
