This two-bed countryside retreat is all on ground level, making it a great base for a small family or group of friends. Based amid other holiday properties on a working estate, it’s just a couple of miles from Goudhurst and makes an ideal location for exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Bewl Water is 4.5 miles away, so why not lace up your boots and walk its 13-mile perimeter trail if you’re feeling active? Visit some of the many National Trust properties in this area: see Vita Sackville-West’s famous gardens 7 miles away at Sissinghurst; or check out the castle ruins and Victorian mansion in parkland at Scotney Castle (7 miles). Play hide and seek amid the ancient pines of Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, 5 miles from this cosy holiday home.

All of the accommodation at this property is on one floor. A converted hop-picking hut, it’s rustic from the outside but bright and airy with modern fixtures and fittings inside, just perfect for a rural retreat with friends or a small family. The generous sitting/dining/kitchen area is light with wood flooring, comfortable furnishings, and a super sleek, contemporary, fitted kitchen for self-catering. You can dine at the modern dining table and chairs for four or two can perch at the breakfast bar. The stylish sleeping accommodation comprises a comfortable double and a single bedroom with great views – both calming spaces filled with light and lovely wood flooring and furniture. They share a modern, tiled wet room with a walk-in shower.

Guests at this property benefit from a private patio area with furniture and a BBQ. There is also a lawned area surrounded by juvenile hedging around the property, but it is not fully enclosed, so pets and children will need close supervision.

The cottage was lovely and modern and clean. Great views of the countryside. The owners were very helpful and approachable. Would recommend for a great break.

A clean, well equipped and smartly presented property with many excellent features including aircon And all at a very reasonable cost. My 90 year old mother particularly appreciated the easy access, wet room and quiet location and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Brighton Hopper Hut to my friends and family.

My parents worked on this farm and I lived with them in the late 40's, 50's and 60's when hops were grown. I was amazed how the Hopper Huts have been converted to luxury holiday properties compared to how they were in my days. Looking forward to booking another stay there.
