This beautiful Edwardian townhouse awaits you in the medieval citadel of Rye, deep in the heart of East Sussex. Close to the English Channel, Rye is historically known as a town that would repel foreign invaders from across the sea. However, the town became a French port in 1205 until it was reunited with England in 1247. You can visit the harbour, which is 2.5 miles away and still has strong connections to its French past, most notably with William the Conqueror. The beach at Camber Sands is 4.5 miles away, and Camber Castle is just 3.5 miles to the south. As well as being home to many cafés and eateries, Rye is also home to Mermaid Street, which was named one of the most Instagrammed streets in the UK.

After a day of exploring, you can relax in front of the TV in a beautiful and comfortable sitting room, which contains an Edwardian fireplace. Take advantage of all the mod cons to rustle up a hearty meal in the modern kitchen, and settle down to eat and discuss the day in the charming, open-plan dining room. Four bedrooms can comfortably sleep six people, and a family bathroom and utility room complete this stylish and roomy home.

If you enjoy the outdoors, the enclosed paved courtyard with garden furniture is perfect for a bit of al fresco dining or just sitting and watching the sun go down.

The location of the cottage was ideal with the added bonus of parking. If the breathing problem had existed we would have had a fantastic time and spent more time in the house.
