Rest and recharge in this adorable holiday home for two on the edge of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is a haven for walkers and there is a fantastic selection of tracks and trails branching away from the cottage, as well as the long-distance North Downs Way, which runs for miles from Farnham to Canterbury. The property is set within a smallholding with a livery yard, ducks, lambs, and chickens, meaning you may have the opportunity to sample some fresh eggs during your stay. There are some fabulous day trips within easy reach of the property, including the cathedral city of Canterbury (12 miles), where you can admire the spectacular medieval architecture and browse the many independent shops. History enthusiasts must take the time to visit the imposing fortress of Dover Castle (17 miles), which sits high above the iconic white cliffs and boasts jaw-dropping views across the Channel. For a day at the beach, both Sandgate and Hythe are within 10 miles and have peaceful pebble shores backed by long promenades.
The former stables have been lovingly converted to create a cosy countryside bolthole. Pretty fabrics and cute accessories create a homely feel, and each window frames an equally stunning view of the surrounding landscape. The main living area has an open-plan layout comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner. Two high-backed, comfortable armchairs are arranged around the Smart TV, so you can enjoy movie nights at the end of a day of exploring. A cute dining table sits next to the window, so you can share romantic dinners for two, and the kitchen area has everything you need to rustle up tasty meals and light bites. A separate king size bedroom provides the perfect place for a good night’s sleep and, completing the property, there is a handy en-suite shower room.
Outside, you’ll find a small patio area with a table and chairs looking out over the open countryside. Sip a sundowner here at the end of the day or start your morning with an al fresco breakfast whilst watching the local wildlife.
