For a family gathering or large group of friends, this beautiful property in Canterbury offers comfortable and spacious accommodation. You’ll be in a pleasant residential area, 0.5 miles from the centre of Canterbury, where you’ll find shops, pubs and the famous cathedral. If it’s nice weather, you may choose to take a guided punt trip on the River Stour. Within 500 metres of the house, you can join the ancient Pilgrims Way. The seaside town of Whitstable (8.5 miles), which is famous for its oysters, is an excellent option for a day out.

This traditional property has a lovely mock Tudor facade, with a gable and black-and-white wall. The inside has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard. You’ll enter into a large hallway, which leads to a sitting room featuring original wood flooring, a large bay window, an open fire, sofas and a TV – a lovely space for relaxing. Head back to the hallway and through to the open-plan kitchen/dining room, a gorgeous extension with floor-to-ceiling French doors, and skylights. There’s a well-equipped kitchen along the left-hand side with eye-catching blue units, a large table and chairs in the centre for dining, plus additional built-in seating. With plenty of light, an attractive oak floor and underfloor heating, this is a truly welcoming space. From here, you can access a second sitting room which has a piano and a lovely view over the garden. There’s also a games room with a pool table and another fridge/freezer plus a sink, a utility room with a washing machine and dryer, plus a separate WC. Three bedrooms are on the first floor: a spacious king-size to the front and two double bedrooms overlooking the garden. There’s also a good-sized family bathroom and a separate WC. On the third floor, there are two more attic rooms – a twin and a single – plus a shower room with a WC. All three of these rooms have vaulted ceilings.

At the back of the house, you can relax in a large garden that’s enclosed by a wall. There’s a spacious patio area with a wooden table and chairs, plus a lawn and planted flower beds. Croquet is available for if you fancy a relaxed game during your stay.

This property is in an excellent location, and slept the 6 of our group comfortably. I would recommend staying here in the spring/ summer months to make the most of the lovely outside space.

"We had a fabulous week catching up with family in this spacious property. All bedrooms rooms are of a good size and comfortably appointed. The multiple living spaces downstairs made it possible for all generations and interests to pursue different things, but we could also come together in the kitchen/ dinner for happy meals and socialising. The gRead morearden is beautiful. We particularly appreciated the piano - it lead to a holiday filled with music. The well stocked book shelves also made for an interesting read. The short walk into Canterbury meant we only used cars for transport once, which was ideal." Hide
