This is a beautiful cottage set in the beautiful countryside of Tenterden, Kent. It is so quiet and peaceful, yet full of nature. I heard and saw owls, and an abundance of birds and insects including lots of ladybirds! The owners, Jill and Graham are wonderful! They are so friendly, down to earth, friendly and very accommodating. Jill was easily reRead moreachable via her mobile number whenever we had any queries or needed anything. They even came and sorted us some fresh bedding for our second week and ensured that we kept well topped up with wood and kindling for the wood burner which is a heavenly addition to this lovely cottage. The owners are also very respectful of your privacy and do not overstay their welcome, for want of a better way to phrase it. The cottage does have an old-style immersion heater for hot water and uses storage heaters instead of central heating. I did not see this in the cottage listing; It took a little bit of getting used to but once we did, it was no bother and Jill was quick to offer help/advice when it was needed. The cottage is very well equipped, the kitchen is so well stocked, I was chuffed to find a hand held mixer to use for baking, I have arthritis and use one at home so this was fab! They have truly thought of everything. As you go up the stairs, you will see lots of books to choose from, as well as maps and leaflets for local places to go. On the upstairs hallway, there are nightlights plugged into the wall which was fabulous for our daughter. There were lots of brilliant board games in the hallway too, my husband beat us at scrabble, twice! There are travel stair gates for use too, although we did not need to. The instruction/information booklet was very thorough. The WIFI was excellent, we had no issues. The welcome back was a wonderful addition, which included a 2 pint bottle of semi-skimmed milk, a bottle of local freshly squeezed apple juice, a local cider and a fresh baked bakery loaf of bread. The bread was the best bread we've had in years and my daughter and I loved the apple juice so much that I was tasked with buying more from the farm. We originally booked to check out on Saturday, however we asked Jill if we could pay to stay for one more night if possible. Jill allowed us to pay for the extra night via bank transfer which avoided any additional fees for us and was very helpful every step of the way. All in all, it was a very wonderful stay in a beautiful, cosy home away from home. We cannot recommend this cottage or the owners enough. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back! xx Hide

Cosy cottage, located in the beautiful and quiet countryside of Kent. Ideally located for visitors from the continent: it's only 40 minutes from the Channel Tunnel/ferries. Ashford, which has a great train connection to London, is less than 30 minutes away.

A true home from home property in a peaceful & beautiful location. Cottage has everything you need & is well thought out. We particularly loved the cosy woodburner & being able to walk into Tenterten on a very lovely, quiet route! Would come again to visit family nearby.

This was one of the best holiday cottages I have ever hired. We loved our stay at Penhill Cottage the location is beautiful, surrounded by fields and wildlife. The cottage was exceptionally clean and well maintained when we arrived. It was well equipped with everything we needed and the fresh garden flowers on the windowsill were a lovely touch. There was a beautiful loaf of fresh bread from the local bakeryRead more in the kitchen along with other essentials to start your stay off well. The beds were comfy and the cottage was spacious with a really good sized garden around 3 sides of the cottage. The lanes leading in are narrow so can be challenging if you meet other cars!! The cottage is nice and central to Kent with everywhere accessible within about an hour in the car. Hide

Lovely cottage, with plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 under 2 years, lots to do close by and within half an hour drive even in the winter! We loved the log burner and there was plenty of wood available for our stay. So well equipped for children with highchair, cot, stair gates, plastic plates and cups Thankyou!
