This charming, semi-detached cottage is surrounded by fields and countryside, whilst still remaining close to local amenities and attractions, making it the perfect accommodation for friends and families wishing to explore the Kent countryside. All the delights of picturesque Tenterden are only a couple of miles away. This is a unique town with streets lined with Georgian buildings, Victorian houses and tiny cottages. Explore the town’s fascinating past in the museum or hop aboard a steam train and take a ride through the countryside. This lively town also offers great shopping and an array of restaurants, pubs and cafes. If you fancy a tipple, the Chapel Down Winery is also close by. Home to a myriad of art, curiosities and cosy pubs, and full of history, the cobbled citadel of Rye is a must-visit and just 10 miles from the property. The property is also well placed for several castles and National Trust properties, with Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Leeds Castle, and Scotney Castle just a short drive away.

Originally built for farm workers, this welcoming and spacious home has been tastefully converted and oozes country cottage charm throughout. Enter the property through the mini conservatory with seating overlooking the garden and into the kitchen. At the heart of the ground floor is the stunning lounge, beautifully furnished with comfortable sofas gathered around the wood burner. Alternatively, in the warmer months the dining room, with seating for six, offers glazed doors which lead straight to the garden. Finally, the bathroom is located down the front hallway off the lounge. Take the carpeted stairs which lead to the first floor, where you’ll find the three stylish and well-proportioned bedrooms: one single, one double with views across the countryside, and a twin room offering zip-and-link beds which can be arranged as a king-size on request.

The property benefits from a large, well-maintained garden with outdoor furniture and a BBQ.

We enjoyed our stay at Penhill Cottage. It was so peaceful, just the wildlife to listen to. The cottage was comfortable with everything we needed. Would return in the future.

Lovely clean cottage with friendly owners. Located in a great place to make the most of our National Trust membership. Was a great half term for children with visits to Kiplings house, Sisinghurst and Battle to see the field and Abbey. The nearby vineyard has lovely cider and wine. We even visited Dover. Just check opening hours for things in winteRead morer. Perfect cottage for a week - we didnt even turn on the TV ! The fire kept us warm and the dining table and board games provided were great. The communication was clear. The cottage was clean and nice and as we expected and everything was in place. There were games for the kids and also some welcome gifts. We had an enjoyable time. The location was very good; quiet and not too far from nice places to visit.
