We had a wonderful time celebrating a special family birthday. The cottage was lovely and Jim and Roy were so warm, helpful and accommodating. We had lovely weather and was able to enjoy the garden as well as the large sitting room table to have dinner (when we didn't eat out). Well located for days out too!

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Shooting Box over the Christmas period. The house, and owners, were very accommodating and from young to old - we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!

The Shooting Box was prefect for our needs. Well appointed, very comfortable, plenty of hot water and ideally located for our needs. Given that we stayed there during a cold snap in November the sitting/dining room and its log burner was the favourite room and ideal for everyone to get together in one shared space. A lovely quiet location, off tRead morehe beaten track yet close to everything we needed. A lovely family weekend away. Hide

There were 8 of us at the Shooting Box. A Victorian wonder. The sitting room is large and we had plenty of room for hide and seek and games involving the 2 youngest aged 7 and 11 and the four in their forties. The bedrooms were lovely. Beware the narrow steep staircases though but we (in our 70s) managed without any problems. The younger ones too Read morejust fine. James and Roy thoughtful hosts. We had a lovely week. Hide

Lovely and unusual property in quiet rural location, rooms were all nicely decorated/furnished and kitchen had everything we needed to self cater. The owners were very helpful and had put up decorations and a tree for our Christmas break.

We really enjoyed our stay for the weekend although there was storm Darragh so we did not go for serious walks. Everybody was very happy about how good the beds were. I can not think of anything that is missing.
