FABULOUS! Staying at the Hideout was like staying with family (but w/o the stress!!) The accommodation was on-trend, comfortable & cosy. The bed was lovely, didnt want to get out! The enclosed garden and volume of light & made the cabin/chalet feel spacious. Huge added bonus was the owner Carol was just next door should we have any queries (which wRead moree didnt) but her knowledge of the area, places to visit, local pub grub saved us driving miles. The shop, PO & cafe, (dogs welcome in cafe which opens 8-6pm), also owned by this lovely lady & daughter, provided everything we needed. The breakfasts were cooked fresh to order and the shop was well stocked. It was truly a great break for us & our little dog as there was a small park across the road which we used prior to setting off on car journeys to Battle, Rye & Bexhill-on-Sea. Hide

This is just right for 2 people and a dog. The bed is comfortable and the shower and bathroom is great. The shop next door is a bonus. There are lots of lovely pubs nearby,we really liked The Swan, and the park just across the road is great for the dog to run about in.

What a lovely week we had! It was a compact little cabin that had a dog proof garden for our 3 dogs, including a large and bouncy lurcher! It felt super private and Jan could not have been any more helpful! We used it as a base for many stunning dog walks- to local woods, to the local town of Battle, Hastings Country Park, Bexhill on Sea and CamberRead more Sands! A lovely hot tub was a welcome addition to the evenings when we returned from long walks, and the garden was a sun trap in the mornings! There was an amazing heater that made the cabin feel so warm and cosy. Hide

We had a lovely three-night stay in the Autumn with pur dog. The cabin was cosy and well-appointed and we found some beautiful local woodland walks, the highlight being Powder Mill Reservoir. Lovely, helpful hosts Jan and Nicola were on hand if we had any issues and the local shop and cafe were a bonus.

Delightful place to say, clean, compact, comfortable and welcoming. It was a great location for exploring and lovely to come back to at the end of the day. Our dog was very safe in the enclosed garden, so great all round stay for us.

The property is secure and private, and was spotlessly clean. We have three dogs, so it's very hard to find nice places to stay, and this one exceeded all expectations. There is a decent pub/restaurant 3 mins walk away with lovey views, and although the staff and cask ales there are a bit grim, the owner is a wine buff, so choose wine, and we urge you to try the cheeseboard! The cottage was as we expected from the Web site. Walking through the door in the hedge to our own secret garden gave a great feeling of privacy. Jan and her team in the village shop could not have been more friendly and helpful, they could not have done more for us. Beautiful quality bedlinen and towels.

What a hidden gem! Firstly, the owner, Jan, is wonderful - nothing was too much trouble for her. The Hideout was amazing - clean, compact and with absolutely EVERTHING provided that you would need. We were very tired having arrived after a very long overnight flight so to see complimentary tea, coffee, milk and doggie provisions (towels, waste bRead moreags etc) meant we did not have to buy anything immediately or plough through our suitcases for dog "bits". Great, quiet location - lovely walks with or without dogs. The secure and pretty outside space was lovely so the dogs could wander around freely and we could enjoy reading and just chatting the time away. The inside of the Hideout was perfect for us - it was warm and cozy, great wifi (if you need it), TV, super comfy bed and fantastic bathroom. We slept exceptionally well with good quality curtains to keep out the light, an extra heater for the bathroom and great wall mounted heater in the living area which worked very quickly (it was 9 degrees outside!!!). As we decided not to cater for ourselves, popping in next door to the village cafe and store and ordering our meals was seamless. As we had a long car journey ahead of us we placed an order for sandwiches the night before "to go". The quality and price of the food was perfect. HAD we decided to cook for ourselves, once again, absolutely EVERYTHING was provided. If we ever come back to this part of the UK I would not hesitate to visit this property again - how can you improve on perfection?!?!?! Hide

The Hideout, whilst small, is perfect for one or two people plus dogs if you have them. The small garden is a suntrap in the mornings nicely laid out and very private. The shop sells pretty much everything you could think of and breakfast in the cafe is highly recommended! It's very central for coast & countryside so plenty to keep you occupied. Read more Hide
