We had a lovely stay. The location was ideal with amenities nearby. The property had charm, warmth and character - having access to a big garden that backed onto farmland was a big bonus. We were lucky too that the sun was out every day to enjoy the outside patio space. Thank you for making us feel very welcome with the food items - these went dRead moreown very well. We stayed for 4 nights and found the property to be clean and well equipped. Unfortunately on one of the days we stayed two gardeners entered the garden in the morning and stayed until almost 6pm that evening, meaning that we could not use it with our children or dogs. We were not informed that this was going to happen. The garden was one of the maRead morein reasons we had booked this property so it definitely impacted our time there. Obviously maintenance is needed in every property but this was an entire day out of a short stay. I raised this with Holiday Cottages and the owner has since apologised via the company. One thing to note is that dogs are not allowed on the furniture. This wasn't too much of an issue as ours had their beds with them, but if you have a dog that likes to sleep on the bed or sit on the sofa then this place probably isn't suitable. Had we not had the issue with the garden then I would have given a much higher rating. Hide

Beautiful cottage, very clean it felt like we were the first visitors, there were many historic houses to visit locally. the garden is great but as I pointed out in the above comment a fence around the pond would be excellent.

Nice cottage, very comfortable with great views over the garden and surrounding countryside. Good walks are easily accessible from the cottage and I would recommend the circular walk that goes via Sedlescombe Organic Vineyard.

A beautiful home from home, well equipped, and well thought out. The garden is wonderful for dogs, our boy loved racing around it, and the smell of all the visiting wildlife kept him occupied! The location is great. Good walks, and not far from local tourist spots.
