The cottage is ideally located for exploring 1066 Country, including the historic Bodiam Castle (12 miles). The beautiful village of Frittenden (2 miles) has a local pub hosting live music and festivals and has an Italian pizza van that comes every Sunday evening. Nearby, Lime Wharf Café in Northiam offers scenic outdoor seating and is next to Bodiam Boating Station, where you can kayak or take a boat trip to Rye or around the castle. Also close by is the award-winning Bedgebury Pinetum and Forest (10 miles), perfect for walking or cycling among beautiful gardens, lakes, and woodland trails, with a welcoming café to relax in afterwards. The light and bright entrance hallway offers plenty of space to kick off your walking boots and hang up your coat before leading through to the lovely lounge, which features a crackling wood burner and soft, neutral hues that perfectly complement the leafy, green views. The same pastel colour palette as the lounge adorns the spacious kitchen, equipped with everything you need to get creative with your local produce. Cottage is very nice and clean, could do with a few more utensils in the kitchen, and some of the potholes in the drive could do with some attention, the back garden is ok for your dog, the tv is a bit awkward could only get bbc channels and Channel 4.

Needs a TV that works. Quite cold in this weather. Absolutely dreadful pot holes leading up the driveway. Impossible to ignore. Certainly missing the welcoming niceties.

We had a wonderful week in this gorgeous cottage. The decor and layout was beautiful, and the fully enclosed garden was a real plus for our dog. The cottage was a perfect location for meeting friends and family across Kent and East Sussex. The train station was a short drive away which we used for visits to London and Sevenoaks. The owners were verRead morey welcoming and provided lots of helpful information on local spots to visit. Hide

We had a lovely week at Stable Cottage. We loved the decor of the cottage and colour scheme. The cottage is very secure on the owner's land, the garden is a good size and enclosed - even for small dogs. We used Staplehurst train station to go into London for the day (50 mins) and to Folkestone on another day (40 mins). We also had lovely days out aRead moret Royal Tunbridge Wells, Mote Park in Maidstone, Bedgebury Pinetum and Headcorn Aerodrome. Food wise, there are lots of nice pubs and cafes in the area, our favourites were Hartley Coffee House and The Potting Shed. Thank you Sarah and family! Hide
