Once the site of a former pump house, this cottage has been fully rebuilt and sits on a historic country estate in the High Weald National Landscape. Escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy this rural spot with your group of four friends or family. Footpaths straight from your front door leading to the village pub 1 mile away. Keen walkers and cyclists will enjoy exploring the Cuckoo Trail, a former railway line that winds through woodland and farmland. Participate in a wine tasting experience at Hidden Spring Vineyard (3 miles) or enjoy a trip on the Bluebell Railway (13 miles). Ashdown Forest, the inspiration for A.A. Milne’s Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie-the-Pooh’s adventures take place, is 12 miles away. If you fancy a day by the beach, visit the seaside resort of Eastbourne (16 miles), or perhaps indulge in a bit of history at Battle Abbey (15 miles).

Head through the front door and into the bright and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. You’ll find comfortable, colourful seating in the lounge area, where you can watch a film on the Smart TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to create meals for all occasions. Prepare a picnic for your daily walk or relax over a delicious dinner at the dining table. The property has two welcoming king-size bedrooms, one on the ground floor and one on the mezzanine bedroom, which has an en-suite WC. Both bedrooms have zip-and-link beds, so they can be made up as twins if required. The ground floor is home to contemporary family bathroom that has a shower over the bath.

Immediately outside the front door is a covered patio area, which has a bench where you can sit and admire the visiting local wildlife, including a buzzard, deer and a resident woodpecker. Beyond this is a fully enclosed 3 acres to explore, with handy seating dotted throughout. Private parking is available for one car, 360 metres away from the cottage. Beautiful cottage in a lovely secluded location. Tastefully decorated and modern throughout. Well equipped and comfortable with plenty of outside space to enjoy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, especially waking up to birdsong, and sitting out on the patio eating breakfast or relaxing with a glass of wine, whilst soaking up the stunning views. Had some fabulous walks to the various pubs in the area and particularly enjoyed our visit to the 24/7 cheese vending machine.
