Tucked just outside the charming market town of Haslemere on the borders of Hampshire and West Sussex, this large family home enjoys a semi-rural setting while still being close to everything the area has to offer. Rolling hills, ancient woodland, and scenic footpaths are within easy reach, making it perfect for walkers, cyclists, and anyone seeking a relaxing break in nature. The nearby Devil’s Punch Bowl and Blackdown provide spectacular views and miles of National Trust–protected landscapes to explore, while Haslemere itself offers boutique shops, cosy pubs, and a welcoming village atmosphere. For those looking to venture slightly further afield, enjoy a trip to nearby Godalming (10 miles), or impressive Guildford with its cathedral and boutique shopping (15 miles). For a drop more culture, hop in the car and take a trip to Petworth House (12 miles), home to the National Trust’s largest collection of artwork.

Step into the entrance hallway with plenty of storage space for coats and shoes, and go through to the first of the two lounges, a cosy snug with sofas, an open fire and a Smart TV. A second lounge at the rear of the property is light and airy with magnificent views over the garden from one of the delightful window seats – the perfect spot for curling up with a good book and a cup of tea. Comfortable sofas surround another open fire, and there is a piano for gathering the family for an after-dinner singsong. The kitchen/breakfast room is the heart of the home and offers everything you may need for whipping up delicious family meals, with a relaxed breakfast area for grabbing a morning croissant and coffee. For those all-important celebratory family meals, there is a formal dining room at the rear of the property with a large table seating ten and offering impressive views across the garden. Completing the ground floor is a cloakroom with a WC. Heading up to the first floor, you will find two super-king-size bedrooms (both with en-suite bathrooms), an en-suite king-size bedroom, a double bedroom and a family bathroom. A set of stairs leads up into the eaves of the property, where you will find two single bedrooms and a cosy children’s reading nook.

The impressive garden houses a large patio area with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ – perfect for al fresco dining on warm summer evenings. Guests also have the use of the outdoor heated swimming pool (May–September). The patio gives way to a large lawn (perfect for a family game of cricket or rounders) and a tennis court. Nestled under the trees is a rustic 9-hole woodland mini golf area, an ideal shady spot to escape to on a hot summer’s day (putters and balls available). There is also a table tennis table, ensuring the whole family is entertained. The property can accommodate off-road parking for six cars.

We had a lovely week at this beautiful property to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our family and grandchildren. There is plenty of space inside the house with two lounges and the smaller one was great for our grandchildren (ages 14, 13 and two 11 year olds) to use away from us adults! The outside area is huge and having lovely weathRead moreer for the whole week meant the swimming pool, tennis courts, mini golf and trampoline were well used as was the outside dining and seating area. Haslemere has a lovely compact high street and we can recommend The Georgian Hotel and The Mill. We can highly recommend Chase Lodge. Hide
