This pretty cottage is situated at the heart of the traditional seaside resort of Eastbourne, just across the road from the town’s wide shingle beach. The town’s restored Victorian pier is just a five-minute walk away with its tea rooms, and fish and chip restaurant. Other attractions in the town include an interesting lifeboat museum, a seafront fort built during the Napoleonic Wars, and a fantastic outdoor sports centre, which offers tuition in stand-up paddle boarding, windsurfing, and even raft making. There is also a good range of both high-street and independent shops in the town, as well as a wide choice of pubs, restaurants, and cafes. Other places of interest within easy reach of the property include the towns of Bexhill and Lewes, Herstmonceux Castle, Beachy Head, and Drusillas Zoo Park.

This charming period property is a fantastic example of an 18th century former bakery which has been thoughtfully updated to create a comfortable holiday cottage, whilst still retaining much of the original charm. Enter the cottage through the traditional entrance hall, where there is plenty of room to put coats and walking boots, and a quiet spot to relax and read, then take a couple of steps down to the cosy lounge/drawing room which has a beamed ceiling, comfy sofa and armchairs. Enjoy watching your favourite TV programmes on the Smart TV with DVD player, after a busy day sightseeing.  The second reception room, which has retained the original bread ovens and a feature fireplace, is a spacious dining room which offers a sociable space for entertaining at the large dining table with seating for eight. Moving through to the kitchen, guests will find everything they need to prepare and enjoy their favourite dishes including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The ground floor is completed with a twin bedroom and a spacious wet room with shower, grab rails, a folding seat and WC. Stairs lead to the first-floor accommodation where there are three pretty bedrooms. The first of these is the master bedroom, a light-filled room which offers a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath with hand held shower attachment and WC. The two remaining bedrooms are both twin rooms. Also, on this floor, there is a bathroom with walk-in shower, bath and WC.

There is private access to a raised courtyard with views to the sea. There is a private parking space within a gated carpark on Marine Road which is 0.1 miles away

Large spacious property located close to seafront and town centre. Private parking just 50 yards away that was secure was an added bonus. Located next to an alleyway that had some bin storage was a drawback, but this didn't spoil our stay.

The cottage had been imaginatively converted from an original bakery. Very near the sea and Eastbourne attractions. Ye Olde Bakery is lovely and cosy and retains some of the original features of the bakery (cast iron stove).
