Small but comfortable. Definitely 2 people max. Only single downside was very busy road alongside, Noise not a problem for us-- just a dangerous road with fast drivers !

A very comfortable little cottage that has been well planned using the space available. The owners have paid great attention to detail and is tastefully furnished, a very comfortable bed and superb linens. Excellent garden space too. Pump Cottage is ideal for exploring the eastern end of the South Downs. We completed large sections of the long distRead moreance footpath, using free car parks in the vicinity and the excellent bus service. It is well worth researching timetables for both buses and trains. Hide

Very lovely property. Very nice location. Owner very polite and welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Close to lots of amenities and scenery locations. One thing to note, if your Sat Nav takes you to a place called Barcombe, that is not the location to go as this is 20 odd minutes from the Pump Cottage you actually need to be. Best to just sat nav tRead morehe actual postcode and then youll get there easier. Would recommend and would stay again Hide

Terrific weekend break away. Our hosts were so friendly and generous - really appreciated the welcome pack. Nothing was too much trouble. Our dog was also made to feel very at home, which is so lovely. Clean and comfortable, well-equipped and beautifully furnished and decorated.

It was a lovely little cottage, extremely comfortable and my dog loved the huge garden. David was very helpful and a very central location for so many beautiful places. Unfortunately I'm sensitive to noise and struggled with the traffic noise as it is so close to a busy A road. Otherwise I couldn't fault it.

Our stay in Pump cottage was perfect from the get go. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcome or helpful. Visiting during the winter meant we didn't explore much in the evenings. This meant using the kitchen facilities which were very well equipped. The garden was perfect for allowing our dog to have a mooch so we didn't have to rush out to walk Read moreher. There is so much to do in the area that we would love to revisit one day and would definitely plan to stay at Pump Cottage. Hide

Pump Cottage was a wonderful place to stay. David and Carri were so welcoming and friendly. The welcome pack was amazing. The cottage is compact but was really well appointed to a high standard. Everything that we needed was there and our hosts had offered to help if we had any queries. The very best part was the garden, which David, Carri and BootRead mores, the lovely lab, happily shared with us. The adjacent road was very busy, but it was not a problem to us. Hide

We loved our stay at Pump Cottage. The accommodation is cosy and compact, but is well-equipped and has been cleverly designed to provide ample space for two. The bed is very comfy and the shower is excellent. The outside space is beautiful and we will miss our evenings sitting in the gazebo watching for bats as the sun sets. Owners, David and CarriRead moree, are so kind and welcoming - keen to offer help if needed, but not obtrusive in any way. We very much hope to return. Hide

We felt this cottage was a gem. Firstly it was beautifully equipped but the two areas where it won us over were the friendly owners and that that they wanted to share their large garden with us and our dogs. The location meant it was easy to find good dog walks on the Downs (South Downs Way) and the River Ouse banks. Light sleepers might find the tRead moreraffic on the A26 to/from Newhaven affects them but we happily slept through on the comfortable bed. Hide
