An ideal location for keen walkers who can take advantage of numerous footpaths and bridleways that lead straight from the front door and meander the beautiful Surrey countryside passing through local villages and hamlets. Leith Hill Place and Tower is a popular historic National Trust site and is the South of England’s highest point, offering breathtaking views. It was once a favourite visiting place of Charles Darwin, the famous naturalist, who conducted experiments within the grounds. It now attracts visitors worldwide who come to see the popular gardens.

Located on the owner's grounds and attached to the owner's house you have your own driveway that after parking up and arriving at your holiday home you can unload the car and enter this charming and lovingly renovated cottage into the lobby area. Kick off your walking boots and head through to the living areas. Straight ahead and up a small step leads you through to the cosy lounge area which has two comfortable sofas and two arm-chairs seating up to seven guests where you can all relax whilst you watch your favourite show on the Smart TV. The lounge leads through to the kitchen and dining area that has been created to give you a real home away from home feel with a lovely stable style door looking out into the garden and comes complete with an electric oven and gas hob, a microwave, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. Once you have prepared a hearty meal for loved ones then serve it up on the dining table that seats up to six adults and two children and there is also a highchair. Back through to the front of the house and the lobby area you have a downstairs WC and a utility room with a useful washing machine. To complete the downstairs there is a snug room with two armchairs and a wood-burner. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms for guests to choose from each with storage space for your belongings. The master bedroom is a double room with its own ensuite shower room and WC and bedroom two is a double room and both bedrooms share a fitted wardrobe that is been custom-built on the landing. Bedroom three has a bunk bed best suited for small children and bedroom four is a single room. There is also a single sofa bed that can be made up in the bunk room or the snug.  There is a family bathroom with a shower over bath so relax and soak those tired muscles after a busy day out exploring. (Please note due to the age of the property there are sloping ceilings and low beams upstairs).

Heading outside through the stable door in the kitchen or out the front door leads you to your garden area which is part lawn, part patio and provides a wonderful spot to relax, catch some sun and watch the buzzards fly overhead while enjoying some al fresco style dining. The cottage is clean, spacious and well equipped for anything you might need during your stay. We stayed as a family of 4 but the cottage would easily accommodate 7 people. The location is in Ockley which is a lovely hamlet/village with a couple of pubs one of which is across the road from the cottage. The house sits in an area of outstanding naturRead moreal beauty and the Surrey hills are on your doorstep. I would whole heartedly recommend this cottage. Hide

We stayed at Rallywood Cottage for a wedding weekend and it was perfect. Very comfortable for seven adults and convenient for transport. Beautifully updated period property with all the equipment that you could want, both inside and in the garden.
