  • Located in the Meads Village area to the west of Eastbourne town centre
  • Easy access to the quiet local beach and South Downs National Park
Property code: OC-EHC09

This cottage is located in the popular Meads Village area of Eastbourne, one mile west of the town centre. Meads Village has a great community feel, and has a good choice of restaurants, pubs, and cafes. A short walk to the west of the property, visitors will find the start of the South Downs Way, a fantastic walking route which leads all the way to Winchester. Of course, most visitors to the area are far more likely to tackle just a short section of the route, perhaps the two-mile walk up to the breath-taking vantage point at Beachy Head, where they can enjoy a well-deserved drink at the cliff-top pub before making the return journey.

Upon arrival at this cottage, guests first come to the living room: a relaxing room with a classic, elegant feel, and a bay window which floods the room with light. In the fireplace sits a flame-effect fire which gives the room a lovely cosy feel, whilst the comfortable sofa and armchairs provide a relaxing place to watch the TV, which in addition to the usual Freeview channels has access to Disney+, Netflix and Amazon Prime (you will need to log in with your own subscription details). An archway separates the lounge from the dining room, where guests will not only find a dining table but also a bookcase well-stocked with books and some board games for guests to enjoy. The kitchen, meanwhile, provides everything that guests will need should they choose to eat-in, including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. At the far-end of the room, a door leads through to a small utility room with a breakfast bar which overlooks the garden, and where the tumble dryer  is located. Stairs lead to the first-floor accommodation where there are three bedrooms. There is a spacious king-size room, as well as a restful single room and a twin bedroom, both with views to the back garden. The contemporary shower room is also on this floor and offers a spacious shower cubicle and WC.

A door from the kitchen leads out to a covered area, beyond which is a patio seating area with garden furniture, which, in turn, leads onto a lawn.

There is a limited number of parking permits available and a permit will be provided for 1 car subject to availability.

The location of the house is just great. Only a few steps to "The Pilot" and to the local shops. To park the car in front of the house was no problem. We liked the kitchen with the large window. Fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer - it is all there. If it had been just a little bit cleaner, there wouldn't have been any complainRead morets at all. We enjoyed our stay. Hide

We have enjoyed our holiday but the house does need a lot of updating, mould patches in shower, dust under beds, wallpaper peeling, stains on king size mattress, pillows and duvets too thin and poor quality, no where to hang coats (coat rail on floor in hallway) internal doors need safety glass, interior patio area untidy and needs sweeping. With aRead morell these considerations I think the property is overpriced. Unless it was upgraded and for the same price we would not return or recommend. Hide

We enjoyed our stay, but there were a few things I would improve. I think we should have been told about the large number of stairs in the property and that you had to go down 5 and up a steep oneRead more to get to the loo from the bedrooms The garden was poorly maintained with lots of weeds. The decor needed upgrading to get a better rating. The downstairs loo had no window or extractor fan. .Kitchen and bathroom were fine. Good area, felt safe. Parking was a nuisance as expected.

The cottage is dated and needs some tlc, but is easily the most comfortable of the four different cottages we have stayed at in Meads Street. We would always look for this cottage first, in future.

Everything was as we expected and we had a lovely relaxing week over Christmas. Enjoyed the Pilot Inn in the doorstep and walking distance to local shops.
