This roadside property is based in the village of Eastry, located just outside the historic town of Sandwich and offers a village pub and local shop. Located in the heart of the Kent countryside, it is a great place to enjoy trips out for countryside walks and cycling. For those looking for a traditional seaside holiday there is the nearby pebble beach and Victorian pier at Deal, Sandy beaches can be found in the nearby seaside towns of Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate. Close by is the city of Canterbury, with the world-famous Canterbury Cathedral and all its medieval history and a wealth of restaurants, bars and boutique shopping. There are more close by visitor attractions, including Walmer Castle, The White Cliffs Experience at Dover and Howletts Wildlife Park and the amazing local vineyard where you can pre-arrange a tour.

Enter the property, into the welcoming hallway/breakfast area where a small table and chairs offers a quiet spot to enjoy a casual breakfast and then head into the open-plan lounge/diner where you will find a comfy sofa and armchairs nestled around the original inglenook fire place with open fire. Curl up in front of the fire to catch up on your favourite TV programmes on the TV or enjoy the romantic glow of the flames whilst you dine at the dining table and chairs. Heading back through the hallway and into the kitchen you will find everything that you’ll need for whipping up a delicious family meal including an electric oven and hob, fridge, and microwave. There is also a freezer and small fridge in the storage shed. The ground floor is completed with a family bathroom with a shower over the bath, and WC. The washing machine is located in a cupboard in the bathroom. Stairs lead up to the first floor where there is a large open area with a day bed that can be either used as a place to relax with a good book or for an additional guest. There are two double bedrooms on this floor and a separate WC. Double and secondary glazing fitted throughout the property.

Outside is an enclosed garden to enjoy, with patio area, and table and chairs, great for summer entertaining. There is small shed for bicycle storage and hanging wet coats, freezer and a small fridge There is private parking for up to 4 cars.

Lovely old cottage. Nice quirky features. Road noise was no problem. Nice pub, village shops, butchers, Chinese takeaway and cafe in the village (5 minutes walk). Great location for exploring Kent.

This cottage has tonnes of character, has everything you need and in a good location. We took lots of trips out an all were short drive away. Kent has country lanes and this is a country cottage, but the owners were great and phoned beforehand to give me so tips. There were a few shops and pub nearby but to be honest the kitchen was great and I cooRead moreked. There may have been made about traffic noise but it really wasn't an issue for us, not excessive and quiet for sleeping. Loved it. Hide

This beautiful, rustic cottage is a lovely place to stay. Especially with your dogs. The welcome pack was a treat for us and the dogs. My grandson and his mum came for a few days and we visited many nearby places. Sandwhich and the dogs love friendly beach at Kingsgate were my favourites. Eastry is a nice village and the locals are very friendly. TRead morehe local pub will spoil your dogs and you . Gore cottage also has a lovely south facing enclosed garden. Perfect for us. Hide

An interesting, quirky, cottage. Lovely welcome pack. Quick access to lots of Kent coast attractions. The cottage is close to the road which is surprisingly busy.

Gore cottage is a lovely cottage, just as one would imagine in a typical wish list. The - rural - location is great and many remarkable places (Dover (cliffs & ferry), Canterbury, Deal, etc.) are nearby. Our dogs loved the garden that was fully fenced so they could roam freely.
