This cottage is located in the Meads Village area to the west of Eastbourne. A stay in Meads is a fantastic choice for those who want to make the most of the breath-taking countryside which neighbours Eastbourne, as there is direct access onto the South Downs Way,  just 200 yards from the property’s front door. Just under two miles across the cliffs, is the renowned beauty spot Beachy Head, which offers some of the most spectacular coastal views in the area. The local beach, Holywell, is close to the property. This shingle beach is a much quieter and laidback alternative to the main town beach, whilst the addition of pretty, Italianate gardens and a tea chalet make it a delightful place to spend a day.

This property offers guests the chance to stay in a traditional fishermen’s cottage for an authentic taste of Sussex seaside life. The lounge is a wonderfully cosy room with a sofa to relax on, a wall mounted smart TV, and a dining table and chairs. A door leads through to the modestly-sized and yet well-equipped kitchen which offers an oven, hob, microwave, an integrated washing machine, and a fridge with freezer compartment. There is a winding staircase leading to the first floor of the property where there is a restful double room, with wrought iron bedstead and plenty of storage space in the built-in wardrobes. The spacious seaside-themed bathroom has a shower over bath and WC.

Outside there is a small seating area to the front of the property and a courtyard patio to the rear which is accessed through the kitchen. There is roadside permit parking close to the property, subject to availability, for which one permit is supplied.

The Pilot Inns ventilation systems were quite loud and disruptive. They ran almost 24/7 at a measured level of about 60 dB. That might not sound loud, but as a constant background noise both in front of and behind the house, it was very disruptive. This is the only reason I wont be renting this truly beautiful house in a great location again.

Lovely cottage for 2 in village of Meads. We appreciated being so close to the sea and South Downs Way. There are local shops, restaurants & pubs within close proximity so everything we needed on our doorstep. There is a extractor fan operating from the adjacent pub the hum of which may be intrusive to some.

A nice cottage in good decorative order and clean, well placed next to a very good pub (no noise at all) and a good bus route into town (20 mins between buses) average kitchen utensils with some dirty and others tarnished looked as if they were from a jumble sale they could be replaced easily. Beachy Head very close and a good starting point forRead more walkers.

Thank you for your feedback: utensils, cutlery and cups have now all been replaced

The cottage itself is very cute clean snd comfortable, but the parking can be problematic as the neighbours at one point "boxed" us in. And all, though it's lovely being next to to a pub which is very nice it's not very nice with garden backing onto the pub and listening to the large extractor fan almost 24-7 and the smell of onions garlic and frieRead mored fish in the mornings.Otherwise I no complaints. A lovely comfortable little cottage which is tastefully decorated and well-equipped. It is five minutes from the sea, a twenty minute walk to the pier and town centre and for walkers, there is Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters to discover. For shopping needs there is a well-stocked Tesco in nearby Meads village. We really enjoyed staying at MichaelRead moremas Cottage and hope to return in the not too distant future. Hide
