Ideal for inter-generational family stays or a getaway with friends, this single-storey conversion is filled with character and well-placed for exploring the East Sussex countryside and coastline. Rye is only 7 miles away, with its harbour, many antique shops, cafes and restaurants; and the golden 7-mile-long beach at Camber is a 12-mile journey east. Closer to home, you have attractions such as the Brede Steam Giants Museum (1 mile) and the Brede High Woods (2.5 miles). Hastings Castle, Country Park and Beach are just over 6 miles south, and with a railway station 1.5 miles from the property, you can discover more of the county without having to drive far.

The grand open-plan living space features a carpeted lounge area with sofas and a TV where you can put your feet up with a good film. Head into the glossy kitchen/dining section floored with ceramic tiles made cosy by underfloor heating, and dine at the oak table and chairs. A hallway from the kitchen leads to a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room and WC. Continuing along this hallway, a slight slope takes you to the second bedroom, a king-size with an en-suite shower room and WC. Then at the far end, down three carpeted stairs, lies the final bedroom, with a king-size bed and a hexagonal frosted window separating an en-suite bathroom. Retaining its original oak beams in the living area and bedrooms, the property’s whitewashed interior is most impressive.

The outdoor space is equally splendid, with a panoramic open outlook on the neighbouring countryside. A patio, accessed directly from the French doors, is furnished with an outdoor dining table and chairs. Beside this, is the gated and gravelled parking area. And, separated by a low brick wall and up a few steps, is a huge swathe of lawn ideal for children to play. The entire area is enclosed by post and rail fencing.

The Parlour was just what we needed for three adult couples. Accessible, comfortable, warm and well equipped. Close to good local pub/dining and within easy access to the old towns of Rye and Hastings and some good fine dining restaurants. Would love to go back in the summer for surrounding countryside and walks. Very friendly and helpful owners anRead mored good value for money. Hide

We have just returned from a glorious sunny 7 night stay at the Parlour which was the perfect sanctuary to relax in. The local pub the Red Lion absolutely deserves a shout out too for their hospitality and fabulous menu. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Very comfortable property in a rural area. Neighbouring property we think was the owners and left us to our own devices. The property was clean with everything you could need with plenty of storage and open plan feel. All bedrooms are on-suite which was great and the beds were comfortable. Garden was lovely and big with plenty of room for the kids Read moreto play and enjoy the space. Location was good for visiting local areas including Hastings, Brighton and we even ventured to Dungeness which was wild....the only pub in a desert was great! The weather was very changeable during our stay but the property aided our ability to be comfortable and if you like wild, windy and wet costal walks then there is plenty of coastline to chose from nearby!! Very clean and comfortable with everything we could possibly need included. Lovely grounds to relax in and did not have to travel far to find a range of places of interest.

Just to be a bit nit-picky.... we thought The Parlour would have been even better with an improved TV/audio system (it was just Sky SD). Plus the siting of the relatively small TV high up on the far wall made it a bit like watching a screen through a Smarty tube.. Some additional furnishings such as side tables or bookcase/sideboard would have madeRead more it look less minimal. We had good weather and would have enjoyed a couple of sun loungers on the grass to catch the late afternoon sunshine. There were too few plug outlets in the bedrooms.These are just a few points to improve what was a very pleasant stay. Hide
