Property code: OC-CB564

This delightful cottage is located on a farm and surrounded by the countryside yet remains within easy reach of local attractions and amenities. It’s therefore the perfect retreat for couples who want the best of both worlds from their holiday accommodation. The cottage is surrounded by several walks through the unspoilt countryside, including a 2-mile route which will take you directly to the famous Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, whilst the impressive Leeds Castle is an easy 10-mile drive away. A little further afield, 18 miles away, is Battle made famous by the Battle of Hastings. With year-round battle re-enactments, its largely unchanged battleground and its medieval abbey, this town is a history-lovers paradise. Upon returning to the cottage after a day of walking and exploring, guests can relax in the village pub which is just half a mile from the property.

This wonderful cottage is deceptively spacious whilst managing to maintain all the cosy, cottage charm of a traditional Kent farmhouse. Upon entering the property, guests will find themselves in the open-plan lounge/diner, a truly lovely space with exposed beams, wooden floors and a wood burner. During the summer, let the outside in and open the doors that lead directly to the garden and enjoy views of the unspoilt countryside. Enjoy a romantic meal together in the elegantly styled separate dining room. The bedroom is at the rear of the property and has a super-king-size bed, which can be arranged as a twin on request. It also has French doors opening onto an east-facing terrace which catches the morning sun, and a modern en-suite shower room.

The property is surrounded by a spectacular garden, perfect for relaxing in the sunshine or al fresco dining. A gate leads to the farmland where guests are welcome to explore or even enjoy a spot of fishing in the large pond with carp.

This is a lovely byre conversion, tucked away on the owners property and great both as a base for exploring the Kent Weald , East Sussex and Kent Coast or the southern fringes of the greater London area or as a cosy retreat on a rainy day. Strongly recommend a meal at the 3 chimneys inn in nearby Biddenden or a stroll down local lanes to SissinghuRead morerst Castle Gardens, but a plethora of great National Trust and other heritage sites are within 40minutes drive. Very comfortable and well equipped cottage ideal for two. It was in a quiet location as we had hoped and within walking distance of a friendly local pub with real ale, and only a little further afield, excellent access to interesting National Trust and English Heritage sites. We had a memorable one-week stay at this beautiful cottage in the Kent countryside. The cottage is set in a lovely small village, next to pastures and meadows with sheep grazing. It provided one of the most peaceful, enjoyable, and relaxing holiday stays we have ever enjoyed. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. We took many long walks in the couRead morentryside, including a favorite walk to nearby Sissinghurst. Our local pub village provided a happy spot to enjoy several evening meals and meet local people and some gorgeous dogs. We hope to return again, since we didn't want to leave at the end of our week.
