Property code: OC-CB559

The beautifully restored, detached, two-bedroom cottage is situated on a small, peaceful, working farm and enjoys epic panoramic views of the surrounding Kent countryside. With latticed windowed and thatched roof cottages lining the high street, the village of Biddenden is a picturesque example of a traditional English village, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Enjoy an idyllic stroll through the owners acres or the 398 hectares of extensive conifer and broadleaf woodland at Hemsted Forest, 1.5 miles away, and spot a variety of birds and dormice along your journey. At the heart of neighbouring Tenterden, discover the Colonel Stephens Museum and carriage and wagon restoration workshops before jumping aboard a heritage steam or diesel train to journey along Britain’s first light railway at Kent and East Sussex Railway, 5 miles away. Tenterden town centre (5 miles) also offers a wealth of architecture to explore plus excellent shopping facilities.

The cottage is single-storey, set at ground level. An entrance porch welcomes you into the cottage and leads you through to the spacious, open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, complete with original exposed wooden timber frames bursting with character and air-conditioning. The living area comprises a TV with a large sofa and two matching armchairs perfectly positioned to enjoy the best views of the garden out of the patio doors. A traditional farmhouse-style dining set enjoys plenty of natural sunlight next to the patio doors to the garden. Behind a clever wooden timber partition, you’ll find the well-equipped kitchen, kitted out with everything you might need. Back through the cottage, you’ll find two bedrooms – one spacious king-size and one cosy twin – both benefiting from more gorgeous exposed wooden timbers. A contemporary bathroom completes this lovingly furnished cottage.

Outside, you’re welcomed into a wonderful, pretty patio garden that achieved gold in Kent Wildlife Trust's Wild About Gardens Awards Scheme in 2018. Enclosed by swathes of well-maintained hedging and greenery, this is the perfect sunny spot to dine alfresco with a scenic backdrop over the neighbouring fields towards the forest.

A beautiful stable conversion in an idyllic setting with walks and countryside from your door! There is so much to do in the area but I also appreciated quiet mornings sipping coffee and watching the birds at the feeder in the courtyard. The kitchen is very well quipped and there are plenty of fabulous places to eat out nearby too. Constant hot waRead moreter and a shower with excellent pressure. The hosts were welcoming and helpful while also respecting your privacy. Make sure you take some carrots or apples for the rescue pony and donkey! Hide

A very comfortable cottage in lovely surroundings. Close to Tenterden and Hastings. Many great restaurants/pubs to eat at. This was our sixth visit, and will be returning.

The Bothy is a wonderful, comfortable place to get away from it all, especially if you enjoy peace and quiet. It's surrounded by woodland and fields with farm animals. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. There are lots of interesting places to visit in the area.

A very very lovely cottage! And the surroundings are simply adorable! The cottage is situated in a very beautiful location! There are lots and lots of very nice visits to make quite nearby (Battle, Bodiam, Great Dixter Gardens, Rye, Wye, etc). There is a train from Staplehurst that takes you to the heart of London (Charing Cross) in only one hour,Read more and there is a very lovely pub in Benenden (just 10 minutes away) where they serve very good foor (The Bull Inn). And last nut not least: the owners are very friendly, nearby and they were simply lovely! Highly recommended!! Hide

The property is very rural but very clean and reasonably well equipped. The main bedroom was comfortable but the single bed used was not, so more suited to two guests. Centrally situated for exploring Kent but a car was needed for going out at night.

Beautiful, quiet location surrounded by wildflower meadows. It has a small garden with seating at the back, which gets the morning sun. The owners fill the bird feeder every day and you are treated to lots of amazing bird visitors including woodpeckers. We had a heatwave when we were there and the property stayed lovely and cool. We had a lovely week in this cottage near Biddenden. The cottage was well-equipped and the location was very peaceful with lovely country views. The owners were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. It was easy to access local villages, towns and attractions from the cottage, despite its hidden-away situation.

This is a wonderfully remote location with a goat, geese and sheep not far away. It's much more spacious than "Bothy" implies. A very rich variety of birds feeds from feeders just outside the living room patio doors.
