Spend quality time together at the Kentish seaside, with a stay in a handsome two-storey waterside cottage. Within a mile and a half radius of the property, you can play golf, visit a castle, go fishing, picnic in a park, take cookery lessons, dine in a number of restaurants or pubs, catch a train to neighbouring Sandwich and on to the cathedral city of Canterbury. Those keen to try some water sports or sailing will find a wake park and boat club 7.5 miles north, while 9.5 miles west, you can visit the East Kent Heritage Railway. Travel 9 miles south to see the famed White Cliffs of Dover, passing St Margaret’s Bay, with its National Trust lighthouse, en route. Or catch some high-speed motor action at Wootton’s race circuit (15.5 miles).

A carpeted entrance hall with coat hanging space leads to an open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room. Mellow stripped floorboards and glazed doors for access to the verandah at one end with French doors onto the rear terrace at the other, provide an airy feel to this multiple-aspect whitewashed space; it’s furnished with sofas, an electric fire, a wooden dining table with eight tub chairs and a breakfast bar seating two in the fashionable kitchen. A utility room and shower room with WC are also located on the ground floor. Climb the wide stairs to the fully carpeted first floor, where you’ll find two king-size bedrooms, a twin and a family bathroom. The coastal decor theme throughout reflects this cottage’s enviable setting.

The open front garden has steps leading down to the road and beach; this space is furnished with tables, chairs and a gas BBQ, for al fresco meals right next to the sea. When you want a little more privacy, you can retreat to the rear garden where you’ll find a wooden picnic table on a raised terrace, with a rattan sofa and coffee table on a lower level that’s laid to lawn; fully enclosed with fencing and walls, this provides a secure setting for children to play.

The beach house is wonderfully located and appointed. We enjoyed the views from the rooms and the lovely walks either into town or towards Sandwich Bay. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a fantastic break by the sea!

This is our second stay at this fabulous property. The view from the upstairs bedroom windows are fabulous. It is furnished beautifully and very well equipped. Location was perfect for us without a car. Only downside is the garden for those with mobility problems. We would like to have seen a handrail to make getting down to the garden easier. OtheRead morer than that, can highly recommend this wonderful holiday house. Hide

WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY AT THE WHITE HOUSE. ITS EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE AND WELL EQUIPPED. ITS A SHORT WALK FROM THE CENTRE OF DEAL AND THE BEACH IS JUST OVER THE ROAD. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE REBOOKING.

Good clean spacious house in good location. Parking easy but would have been better if we could have used the garage. Would have been nice to have had a welcome pack, even some teabags and milk. Garden furniture was partially broken and bistro set was rusting and flaking - need replacing / fixing. Bed a little too hard - personal preference. WaRead mores quite pricey - a price reduction if just 2 people staying would be nice. Overall, good house and would recommend, just some minor issues as mentioned. Hide

Too many repeat emails/duplication. In our case, expected front garden to be dog enclosed, as it wasn't it limited our use of the front garden and sea view.
