Formerly a grain store, the property has been cleverly designed to provide charming accommodation, perfect for a couple, solo traveller or small family and their dog to explore the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Walk into the pretty village of Sedlescombe (1 mile) with its popular local pub and village shop. The area is known as 1066 Country, and the historic town of Battle (3 miles) is home to an abbey and the battlefield where the infamous Battle of Hastings took place. Just 7 miles away, the Victorian seaside town of Hastings boasts a RIBA architectural awarding-winning pier that holds many events throughout the year and the charming ‘old town’ is the historic heart of town, which retains a working fishing fleet. Neighbouring St Leonards has become a trendy enclave with many interesting and independent shops, restaurants and bars to explore. With lovely stately homes and formal gardens in the area open to the public, you’ll certainly never run out of things to do.

This unusual escape is a cottage full of curves and personality. The king-sized bedroom can be found on the ground floor, alongside a shower room and laundry room. Upstairs, a spacious open-plan living space has four windows with lovely countryside views and comes well-appointed with a double sofa bed, additional cosy seating, and a TV. A dining table with seating for four sits in the corner and the fully-equipped kitchen has plenty of storage space with everything needed to dine at home. A bathroom completes the first-floor layout.

The property is situated next to a private airfield, so you can sit out on the patio with the fire pit, and watch the occasional light aircraft come and go. Relax besides the fire pit in the peace and tranquillity of this lovely rural setting whilst enjoying a home-cooked meal or sundowner.

We really loved the Corn Bin. It is like a tardis! The bed was very comfy, the sitting room was peaceful with lots to look at through the windows, the kitchen was spotless and fantastically well-equipped. It even had a sharp sabatier knife! The outside sitting area is beautifully planted and the chairs comfy. There are beautiful toads living among Read morethe leaves under the holly bush. We had daily chats with the horses and the light aircraft. There is loads to do in the area and the night skies over the airfield are dark and starry. We were happy, our dogs were happy. Thank you so much for a wonderful, relaxing week. Hide

A great place to stay. Not far from Hastings. And is in the middle of some great walks, and English heritage and national trust properties to visit. There are some great places to eat too. "A21 Aroma".. fabulous!!

Really excellent cottage and a very interesting conversion - congratulations to the owners on a job well done. A spacious and efficient design, all the necessary alliances. Very quiet and peaceful. Perfect location for visiting the sites in the area or just walking in the countryside, woods or pebble beaches. We will definitely return.

Really great location and peaceful until the planes move around. Not a very busy airfield so not a big problem with noise. Dog owners need to know the garden is not enclosed so not safe to let dogs out if not on lead, especially if planes are being moved. Stairs are quite steep but manageable. Great private walks around the farm grounds to let dogsRead more run free and a safe enough distance from the airstrip in case of plane activity. Lots of sites to visit within a short car drive and fantastic beaches for dog runs with lots of dog friendly pubs in the area. The TV aerial failed but was fixed within the hour after contacting Sophie who was really helpful. A great week away. Hide

The Corn Bin was let down by poor cleanliness especially in the kitchen area. Needs a deep clean and update. Basics such as exiting electric gate on departure day need to be sorted. Shame as it has such potential as a quirky place to stay. It was comfy and cosy on the plus side but sadly the neglected feel of the place spoils the experience.

A lovely unique stay. Garden is not enclosed for dogs but that is a small point. Very peaceful. Lovely to stroke the horses. Too wet for the long walks but great countryside.

Lovely place and peaceful even the odd private small aircraft didnt spoil the peacefulness. Nice to be able to walk straight from property with dog. Be aware that there are a lot of wild rabbits and some of the fields have sheep. Courtyard not dog secure. Property is spacious and comfortable.

After an initial problem with the cottage not being ready for us on our arrival well after 5 pm we were very happy with the accommodation. We received first class assistance from Sophie (who I believe may have a connection with the cottage) so overall our stay was very good.
