This classic and charming holiday home is a renovation of the stables, once part of the owners’ Grade II listed home. Guests retain privacy as it is set apart with its own driveway, yet you’ll benefit from use of the owners’ outdoor swimming pool in the summer months. Head into the quaint village of Rolvenden, where this property is located, and sample the traditional pubs, see the C.M. Booth Collection of Historic Vehicles and admire the historic Rolvenden Windmill (0.5 miles). You’re not far from popular day trip destinations like Camber Sands (15.5 miles), which offers the chance to try watersports like kitesurfing or relax by the dunes; or Rye (12 miles), a picturesque town with cobbled streets, atmospheric pubs, antique shops and fascinating history.

You’ll immediately notice the charm of this historic property, starting with the ground floor sitting and dining room, which has beamed ceilings and classical style furnishings. The sitting room has comfy, mismatched seating, ornate wall lamps and a pine dresser, plus lots of entertainment from the TV and DVD, music system, radio/docking station and books. There’s a round dining table with cushioned, rustic-chic chairs beside French doors that lead to the garden. Pass through the hallway - which boasts original iron and boarded stall divider, as well as a cupboard with a washing machine - to the contemporary kitchen with the bonus of a Nespresso machine. Finally, the ground floor has a handy WC in a cloakroom. Up the handrail-included stairs, there are beamed bedrooms: a double and a single with an extra bed that is a truckle only suitable for a child. Relax as you choose in the bathroom, which has both a bath and a separate shower, plus more charming ceiling beams and a stable door.

The delightful outdoor space at the rear of the property, accessed via the French doors, has plenty of greenery and one step up to a paved area with an overhead, covered pergola creating a courtyard with garden furniture and a BBQ. There is also an enclosed, gravelled parking area at the front. Visiting in summer? You’ll be welcome to use the outdoor swimming pool in the owner’s garden next door.

A lovely cottage tucked away in Rolvenden High street. The property was delightful with lots of quirky character. Very well equipped kitchen was a real bonus. Close to the local mini market which has everything you might require, and the Bull pub which we visited a number of times as the food, drink and service was excellent. We enjoyed our short stay in this comfortable converted stables in the village of Rolvenden. There is a well equipped kitchen, pleasant living room and outside patio. The village is near the lovely town of Tenterden and within easy acces of a host of places of interest by the sea and in the beautiful Wealden countryside.

We have absolutely nothing bad to say about this cottage. It is wonderfully and lovingly furnished, with great attention to detail. Very cosy! There really is everything imaginable in the house - you don't need anything from home. The location is absolutely perfect for all kinds of activities. Dogs are also welcome. We were even allowed to help oRead moreurselves to the fruit in the private garden and pick absolutely delicious plums. If anything is missing or you need tips for excursions, you can ring the owners at any time. Both are always ready to help, thank you very much! We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. Good location with plenty of things to do nearby and several playground close by for our toddler. The owners were very friendly and allowed us to use the pool which was a great added bonus on warm days.

The cottage is in a lovely part of Kent, but it is well below the standard of a holiday cottage that I would expect. The exterior seemed neglected and apart from the bathroom, the interior dated with dingy lighting and uncomfortable furniture. In particular, the single bed mattress was very old and you could feel the springs. The owners were awayRead more on holiday at the time of our stay and said they could not do anything to improve the situation. The bedding and towels were clean. It was so uncomfortable, we cut our holiday short and left early. This may have been a nice place to stay in the past, but sadly, I could not recommend it. Hide
