Located on a cobbled street in the heart of historic Rye, this charming cottage has been decorated to both reflect its fascinating history and offer contemporary conveniences and comfort for all its guests.

Situated in the centre of the wonderfully quintessential market town of Rye, this property is perfectly situated with something for everyone. From independent boutique stores, to small hidden gems of antiques stores, with art galleries and a wide range of eateries, including tearooms, pubs and an array of fine dining restaurants. With all the latest films, and a selection of classics, the local independent cinema offers something for all ages to relax and enjoy a good movie. Nearby, just a short 15 minute drive away, Camber Sands is a fantastic beach for whiling away an afternoon with swimming or a selection of water sports.

Adjacent to the cottage at 12 West Street, these two properties can be booked together for larger groups or families. Entering from the cobbled street, you arrive into a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, which is shared with the property next door. A second door leads to the stairs which take you up to a small landing, leading to the property’s lounge. In this tastefully decorated room, you will find a comfortable sofa bed and a cosy leather chair, overlooking the town’s famous cobbled streets, perfect for a spot of people watching. The television benefits from a built-in DVD player and digital radio. Directly off the lounge is the sleek, kitchen which has a small table for two as well as an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. A lovely feature of the kitchen is the balcony that leads off from it. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. Up the somewhat steep, cottage style stairs, is the spacious attic bedroom. With zip-and-link twin beds which can be made up as a king-size, if you prefer. The room has many interesting period features, including exposed brickwork and beams. There is also a small fold-out single bed suitable for a child, as well as space for your clothes. The bedroom windows look out across the rooftops and beyond to the sea.

From the kitchen is a balcony which has a bistro style table for two, it has views across the town and to the countryside beyond, a perfect location for an evening of wine and conversation. There is no parking available, due to the central location of the property, but there is space to unload and ample parking available in the town.

Please note there are two very steep staircases in the property with no hand rails, making the property less suitable for children or people with mobility issues

Nice second floor apartment on two floors in centre of Rye. Well equipped on the whole. Conveniently located in centre of Rye which is a beautiful old town. No parking on site but there is parking within 5 minutes walk (the station car park costs 14 per week). Nice selection of pubs, restaurants and shops in town. Bike hire nearby. Nice walks to RyRead moree Harbour and Winchelsea. Rye is well connected by train - just over an hour to London. Hide

Its a lovely cottage, right in the heart of Rye. It was quite comfortable, especially once we got the heating on. You should be aware that inside the property there are 2 flights of stairs which are quite steep and that the bathroom is not on the same floor as the bedroom.
