This pretty, characterful cottage is located a ten minute drive to the small historic town of Winchelsea, with its pretty and quiet pebbly beach. Within a ten minute drive is the medieval town of Rye, with its range of independent shops, plentiful places to eat and old-fashioned pubs. This is a wonderful place to while away a day, wandering the cobblestoned streets and perhaps visiting the tiny independent cinema. A further ten minutes’ drive past Rye and you will come to the seaside resort of Camber Sands, this offers a very different experience to Winchelsea, with its wide expanse of golden sands and choice of water sports on offer.

This traditional, beamed cottage, has steps leading up to the house, at the top of which, the front door opens onto the porch. Immediately to your right, you will find the sitting room with working inglenook fireplace, comfortable sofas and chairs and TV with DVD player and Wi-Fi. Continuing on to the kitchen, you will find everything you need including an Aga-style oven, as well as conventional oven and hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is also a kitchen table seating six, but the property also benefits from a separate dining room, which has an additional TV and DVD player, as well as the dining table. There is a separate utility room with a washer/dryer and a separate WC. Stairs to the first floor take you to the master bedroom suite with beautiful views across to Rye and Camber. There is a double bed and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has twin beds and the main bathroom is on this floor, with bath and separate shower. On the second floor are two single bedrooms in the attic eaves.

To the front of the property is a lawned garden with pathway leading to the front door. To the rear is an attractive courtyard with al fresco dining area and charcoal barbecue, which leads up to a lawned area There is parking outside the property.

A beautiful setting with stunning views, including a Tudor castle, Angel Cottage was the ideal location from which to explore the area. The cottage is traditional but well modernised, cosy and inviting. Tastefully decorated and clearly loved. We were welcomed with a basket of goodies, and the patio and garden were ideal for a BBQ. This is a beautiful cottage at a great location. We think the owners are very hands on with the setting up for new arrivals as the cottage looked really very well prepared and a more personal touch was very obvious. The views towards Rye, Rye Harbour and Camber Castle are very nice. Battle Abbey and Bodiam Castle are both fairly close. Dover CastleRead more and the White Cliffs can be visited as a day out. Hide

This pretty cottage was ideal for our family of five parent, grandparents, two small kids. A welcome basket with bread, jam, tea, etc. was kindly provided and there were other staples (such as salt). The bedrooms were very comfortable. There was lots of space inside to play with the toys provided (including a wonderful dolls' house) as well as a pRead moreleasant patio with a swing seat we used a lot and a small "hidden" garden where the grandparents enjoyed drinks in the evening. Angel Cottage is a very warm & comfortable place to stay. It is well located with good views and is quiet. As a building it is very interesting, though the stairs are steep as a consequence. It is well equipped and a lovely, restful place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Angel Cottage. It is a beautiful, old home that has been tastefully renovated and updated. The cottage was immaculately cleaned, well appointed and comfortable (just be careful not to hit your head on the low ceilings!). The owners were very thoughtful. They left us a welcome basket and provided some baby equipmentRead more, which we appreciated. Winchelsea is a lovely, quaint English town and a great jumping off point for exploring other areas in East Sussex. Hide

A charming cottage in a beautiful (and very historic) village. It was extremely well equipped, and was spacious enough (and had enough rooms) to enable us to not feel on top of one another all the time. The garden was especially charming, and we appreciated the 'welcome pack'. The cottage has superb views over the levels to Rye, and it is also veryRead more relaxing and quiet. Hide
