A charming, luxurious, bespoke shepherd’s hut complete with wood burner for cosy nights’ in, located in a tranquil setting and perfect for a romantic rural getaway.
Located on the outskirts of the charming Kent village of Sissinghurst and directly opposite Sissinghurst Castle, the former home of Vita Sackville-West, this pretty brand new shepherds’ hut is within 2.5 miles’ reach of the local shops, village store and popular pub. The historic market town of Tenterden is only 8 miles from the property, with Cranbrook closer still at just under 3 miles away offering boutique shopping. This is a fantastic base for heading out on local paths or to explore the many local vineyards, gardens, and National Trust properties, as well as the Kent and East Sussex coastline, with the soft golden sand of Camber 20 miles away.
Inside, the hut has been decorated to evoke a relaxed and spacious feel. There is a small oak kitchen area with an electric hob, microwave, toaster, fridge, and Bosch coffee machine. There is a folding dining table with seating, while a wood burner ensures you’re always warm and toasty. The king-size bed sits at one end of the hut beneath a pretty window which gives you breathtaking views from the moment you wake up. Beneath the bed, there is plenty of storage for your stay and the shepherds’ hut is complete with an en-suite shower room with a shower, WC and heated towel rail.
Outside, there is a private garden with table and chairs where you might enjoy spotting buzzards fly over whilst the neighbouring sheep roam around their fully-fenced field. This is a perfect area for al fresco dining with a firepit provided, or perhaps you could enjoy a nice glass of wine or a good local ale whilst watching the stars at night. There is private parking available nearby.
