Meticulously decorated throughout, this beautifully vintage holiday house features colourful fabrics, stylish fittings and furnitures, and is just a short walk from medieval Rye and its old cobbled streets.

This stylish Victorian cottage is located on the outskirts of Rye, just a few minutes’ walk from its famed cobbled streets lined with quirky independent boutiques, antique treasure troves and many places to eat. The town is also home to a harbour nature reserve and a tiny and stylish independent cinema. Within a 15 minute drive of the property is the popular seaside resort of Camber Sands. The large beach is perfect for families, or for those looking for something more adventurous such as kite surfing.

Enter the property to find the retro-styled lounge, with its antique furniture and feature fireplace. There are contemporary touches here too with the TV and DVD/Blu-Ray player and games console. An archway leads to the dining area which has an oak dining table and 1960’s chandelier, plus a record player here which can also be used to connect your MP3 player to. Through to the kitchen there is an Aga-style electric oven with induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Stairs leading from the hall take you to the bathroom which is on the half-landing midway up, which has a roll-top bath with overhead rain shower. Next door is a separate toilet. Onto the first floor, the first bedroom has a double bed and vintage wardrobe. The second bedroom on this floor has twin beds, an antique side table and vintage chest of drawers. The master bedroom is located in the eaves of the house, where a chandelier hangs over the king-size bed, with another vintage touch of a marble topped dressing table. This room also has its own TV and DVD player.

To the rear of the property the backdoor has steps leading down to the garden, which has a large paved area with bench seating for six and a charcoal barbecue. This patio area is strung with colourful lights and to complete the vibrant theme a funfair fresco adorns the wall. There is room to park in the surrounding area, both across the road form the property and also on adjacent streets.

We had a fantastic time at the cottage in Rye. It was a nice 5 minute walk into town, where there were some lovely restaurants and pubs (try the Waterworks Microbrewery Pub for a drink and The Standard for food). The furniture and house itself was very nicely decorated and my Parents, Wife, baby and I all had a great time!
