Property code: BT015

Stylishly decorated and charming Victorian cottage, in a great seaside location makes this pet-friendly property a great choice for dog owners and families, including secure off-road parking by the property.

This listed property is located in Hastings Old Town, which famed for its important role in English history and is next to Hastings Country Park. There is an eclectic mix of lovely independent boutiques, cafes, pubs and fish stalls. Nearby you will find the fascinating ruins of William the Conqueror’s castle, which he ordered to be built after his Christmas Day coronation in 1066. Of course no trip to Hastings would be complete without a trip to the beach and the most enjoyable way to get there is to take the cliff side funicular railway, a fun ride for everyone with wonderful views out to sea.

From the road a wooden door leads to the coach yard, which brings you to the glazed main entrance. Entering the cottage, you will find yourself in the kitchen, which like the rest of the property, is a beautifully styled room with classic, understated decoration. Here you will find an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and a classic butler’s sink. Next to the kitchen is the spacious dining room with its wooden table and benches, sofa and TV. Also off the kitchen is a tiled shower room. There is a ground floor bedroom with zip-and-link twin beds which can be made up as a super-king-size on request. There is also under stairs storage, perfect for coats and boots. Take these stairs up to the first floor where the striking lounge is located. This room feels both homely and elegant with its large windows, high ceilings, open fire and two comfortable sofas and chairs. There is a TV and DVD player here, as well as an iPod docking station. Also located on this floor are two bedrooms, one with super-king-size bed and one with a single bedroom with an additional single bed if required. The spacious and beautifully styled bathroom has both a walk-in shower and bath with shower over.

The exterior of the property is an absolutely gorgeous space and very unique. There is a secure cobbled yard to the front of the property which can be used for outdoor eating or as a parking area, and a tranquil courtyard area outside the kitchen with a covered dining grotto which is cut into the rock of the hillside. This area has a Mediterranean feel and is a special spot for al fresco eating or evening drinks.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We've stayed at Belmont Cottage before and look forward to coming back again. Love the central location, parking and bright living room.

Belmont Cottage is spacious. The property was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and everything worked; the beds and lounge furniture were comfortable. The property is somewhat pricey, but offers good per-head value if the beds (6) are all occupied. It is nicely situated in a quiet area, but within reasonable walking distance (around 1/2 mile) of the Read moreOld Town shops and nightlife. It's on a hill which is quite steep after a few drinks! Though we initially chose the cottage because of its close proximity to Hastings old town, it was so beautiful, and the level of comfort so high, we found ourselves spending a far greater amount of time at home than was initially planned.

A lovely cottage, full of character in a perfect location near the old town and the East Hill country park. Beautiful modern bathrooms. Our dog made to feel very welcome with a wonderful welcome pack for her! The layout is slightly unusual but this suited our needs very well.

The cottage is beautiful, elegant and comfortable at the same time. The best equipped cottage I have ever stayed in and just 5 minutes walk from HIgh Street and the beach.

This is a fantastic cottage in a great location, full of charm and furnished to a high standard. A short walk to Hastings centre and Hastings Country Park. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. The only minor issue we had was the property was quite cold - a brand new boiler had just been installed and they were still getting the thermostatRead more settings right (just as the weather was turning colder) so anyone staying there in future should be OK. Lovely cottage in an excellent location - easily walkable to the Old Town, but far enough from the seagulls. This was our second trip to Belmont Cottage and it has everything we need, including a lovely welcome hamper. We're looking forward to returning!

Charming cottage, very spacious and comfortable. Sue and Robert were very helpful and considerate during our stay. Well situated for walking into Hastings and access to East Sussex by road.
