Stylishly decorated throughout, this imposing Georgian holiday home displays a perfect blend of original charm and contemporary convenience, all nestled in the heart of Rye's charming cobbled streets.

This stunning Georgian townhouse is situated right in the centre of the historic town of Rye, in East Sussex. Rye is a wonderful place for a break away from daily life, with its quiet, cobbled streets, array of interesting independent shops, bijou independent cinema and a range of places to eat to suit all tastes. Within a five minute drive, or a 15 minute bicycle ride, is the neighbouring village of Rye Harbour, with its coastal RSPB nature reserve, this makes a lovely place for a walk along the beach before retiring to the village’s popular gastropub.

Walking through the front door of this property takes you from Rye’s cobbled streets and into the welcoming hallway. Straight in front of you, you will find the magnificent lounge with its stunning views across the marshes and beyond. The sofas and chairs here make for a comfortable, relaxing space in which to watch the TV and DVD player. In the corner of the room is a small sunroom. The spacious dining room has a large table seating eight, feature fireplace and more of those wonderful views. The kitchen is a cook’s paradise. There is an Aga in use in the winter months, as well as a large Range cooker, plus a microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A door leads out onto the flagstone terrace which has an outside dining area and views all the way across to Dover’s white cliffs. Taking the stairs to the first floor, you will pass a seating area with wide range of books. The master bedroom suite is on this floor, with its own hall off from which separate doors lead to the bathroom with shower over bath and bedroom with its double bed. The second bedroom has a double bed and a window seat to enjoy the views. The en-suite to this room has a shower over bath. The third bedroom is perfect for children with its two single beds and en-suite shower room. Another set of stairs, takes you to the second floor and the fourth bedroom, with double bed and en-suite shower.

To the rear of the property, is a flagstone terrace with views across to the marshes and the sea. The outdoor dining table seats eight and there is also a BBQ. Parking is available in local car parks nearby.

 

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Beautiful property in great situation. Any drawbacks in terms of cleanliness outweighed by the overall character and location of the property in a central site in the Citadel. Would return.

Great spacious house in a great location. Easy to walk to all amenities. Parking better than expected. House set up is better for couples than families due to so many double beds.

Wonderful location, property a little tired but homely. We found all the beds very comfortable and all bedrooms very good size and pleasant aspects with own en-suites - great for nice lies in once you have got used to the noise if seagulls! Kitchen very well stocked and nice dining room for group meals.

Great location and a lovely house for a stay with friends and family. Just off Rye High St so good for shops and eateries also handy for exploring historic Rye. It is spacious and there are places to sit and eat comfortably inside. The kitchen was lovely and the cooker and kitchen appliances were easy to use. The house is in need of minor tlc but iRead mores tastefully decorated and would recommend. Hide

Beautiful house, spacious and comfortable - love the en-suites, they really make a difference. The house is central, and yet has wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. Definitely recommended, we will be back next year, and thank you so much for the goodies - a lovely welcome.

Our second visit which is a recommendation in itself! Stayed for the weekend with my 7 sisters, and had an absolutely wonderful time. The property is perfect for sitting together to eat, and relaxing in the living room for parlour games, which was great fun. So close to the shops too - what else could you ask for. Thank you.
