This stunning converted oast house presents a breathtaking blend of old and new, with original features combining contemporary style and modern luxuries, all in a beautiful and peaceful rural location.

Located in the rural village of Sandhurst in Kent, this 16th century oast house is situated on farmland and surrounded by open fields. The village has many lovely period cottages which provides a lovely backdrop for photos. There is also a farm shop and a tearoom which was voted “Kent Tearoom of the Year” in 2014. Within a 20 minute drive is the elegant town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, with its beautiful parade of shops, the Pantiles. The medieval market town of Rye is also within a 20 minute drive and is a lovely place to spend a day with its independent shops and large choice of restaurants, pubs and bars.

This property is in a tranquil setting down a long dirt track, and forms part of a beautiful 16th century Kentish oast house. On the ground floor a wooden barn door opens up to a drying room, with washing machine and extra fridge/freezer. An outside staircase leads to the front door of the property, which opens into a vast open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a spacious farmhouse-style feel to it. In the centre of the room is a wooden dining table and beyond that, running the length of the room is the country-house style kitchen, with butler sink, electric oven and hobs, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The focal point of this area is a huge Welsh dresser, adding to the rustic, shabby-chic feel. The sitting area of the room is cosy and inviting, with large sofa, armchairs and a wooden chest. There is a TV and CD player. The master bedroom is situated to the right of the front door and has a magnificent four-poster bed and chandelier. This room is located in one of the oast’s roundels, making it an extra special place to stay. A sumptuous bathroom has a stunning roll top bath and a book case, making a real sanctuary. A second roundel is home to a wet room with large overhead shower head. Next to this is the second bedroom which is located in the third roundel with twin beds.

Outside is a magical outdoors space with a painted wooden table beneath the branches of a large tree. There is also a zip-line and tree house, children must be supervised when using these please. Walking across the fields, you will come across the two friendly resident donkeys.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This was a perfect last minute getaway. Members of the family where there to greet us along with their very lovable dog who quickly became a favourite for my two girls. The home was simply cosy and perfect. Although we stayed for almost a week we wished we could stay longer. We look forward to our next visit.

This is a really special property in a stunning, peaceful location. It's easy to get to many attractions and lovely places to visit but is very secluded. The oast house looks amazing from outside with its three towers. And inside it just feels so spacious and quirky and cosy. Ally and Fergus are very friendly hosts with loads of suggestions and tipRead mores. The house is surrounded by stunning countryside. The morning views were amazing, especially when there was fog.
