This lovingly decorated former cart lodge boasts stunning interiors throughout and is located perfectly for couples wanting to head out and explore the abundance of local historic towns.

This delightful lodge is located in the quintessentially English village of Goudhurst. Only moments away from the village shop and three country pubs, it is also within reach of the glorious Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, the former home of Vita Sackville-West. You are right in the heart of hop and windmill country and on the doorstep of a lovely selection of pretty vineyards and wineries. Only half an hour away from the Kent and East Sussex coastline, the village is perfectly placed for long days out at the beach and trips to traditional fishing villages dotted along the coast. For those who enjoy shopping, the town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is a short drive away and for interesting days out, there are the magnificent cities of Canterbury and Brighton as well as the historic towns of Battle and Rye.

As you enter through the small courtyard, you will find the lodge ready to welcome you inside. High vaulted ceilings with authentic beams and high windows offer you a taste of its previous life. There is no sign of that now however, as the lodge has been thoughtfully renovated and has a charming light and airy open-plan interior. The bespoke under floor heated kitchen has everything you will need - an electric oven and hob, microwave, coffee machine, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine/tumble dryer. Here you can whizz up a gorgeous meal that you can enjoy in the cosy dining area with its dining table and four chairs. Then relax on the comfortable sofa to watch a film on the Smart TV complete with DVD or sit in the armchair to read that book you have always meant to catch up with. When it’s time to end the day, retreat to the bedroom where you can sink into the comfortable king-size bed. There is also a shower room and WC.

Outside, head along the path to the large garden where you can enjoy a morning coffee on the terrace area or relax on one of the two sun loungers. You will be met with spectacular views across the countryside which can also be enjoyed in the evening as there is a table and chairs and charcoal BBQ for alfresco dining. There is private parking for one car.

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location overlooking a valley with spectacular sun sets. The cottage has modern facilities and is well equipped. The host was warm and friendly and responded promptly to any queries. There is plenty to see and do in the area, particularly if you like walking. A perfect get away!

We have stayed at many holiday homes but this one surpassed any previous ones. Every need was catered for. Everything of such good quality, a lovely double shower and a beautiful kitchen. The view across the valley was amazing and will never be forgotten. I wish I could bottle it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cart Lodge. It was welcoming and comfortable and immaculately clean. The view is incredible and we would never tire of enjoying it. The owner is very helpful and left a lovely welcoming basket which was a nice touch. Lots to see and do in the area and we wouldnt hesitate to return.

This is such a lovely place to stay. The conversion has been done to such a high standard. It is in a small hamlet about half a mile from Goudhurst. It is quite remote and quiet. Cart Lodge was as good as we hoped from seeing the interior views on the website and it didn't disappoint in any respect, in fact it was as much the extra little touches and quality of all equipment etc. that was impressive. The owners were also on hand to help with any queries and so we had a very enjoyable week. B&C
