Former stable block stylishly converted to create an attractive holiday cottage sleeping two guests, located just a short stroll away from Holywell Beach to the west of Eastbourne.

This property is situated in a peaceful gated mews just off the High Street in the Meads Village area of Eastbourne, a quieter part of the town with its own range of shops, pubs, and restaurants. The local beach is backed sheltered by cliffs at one end, and by pretty, Italianate gardens at the other. The main town centre is a mile from the property, easily accessible on foot or by regular local buses. The town’s beach is a wide expanse of shingle, whilst, at low tide large areas of sand are revealed, making it perfect for beach games, sunbathing, and swimming. Other attractions in the town include an interesting lifeboat museum; the restored Victorian pier with its tearooms, nightclub, and restaurant; and a fantastic water sports centre.

On arrival at this property, guests will find a gate which leads them across a quiet courtyard from where French windows open onto the lounge/diner. This tastefully decorated room has a restful atmosphere with its muted colours, plantation shutters, comfortable sofa, and dining table seating two. There is a TV/DVD with Sky here too, perfect for relaxing with a film in the evenings. A door from this room leads through to the separate kitchen which is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, and washing machine. Steep turned stairs lead from the lounge to the first floor where there is an elegant king-size bedroom with a nautical theme and  plantation shutter, and which benefits from its own TV. Next to the bedroom, there is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside, there is a south-facing courtyard garden with a table and chairs, where guests can sit and enjoy the sunshine, perhaps over al fresco drinks. There is private off-road parking for two cars in front of the property.

Lovely location, Meads Village is ideal for a leisurely walk into Eastbourne with a very good bus service back. Other than the above regarding the bathroom which is purely a personnel view, the property was a delight. We would certainly return.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. It was clean nicely decorated and in a lovely quiet position. Not far from Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters which are beautiful places. Nice food at The Ship just down the road.

A wonderful cottage in of the most beautiful parts of Eastbourne. The cottage has been charmingly furnished and has all the amenities that we needed. It was clean, spacious, light and airy with a really comfortable king size bed. Tucked away in a quiet gated mews, it's a tranquil setting and difficult to beat. Within 300 metres of the cottage thereRead more's a deli, a Co-op (which freshly bakes croissants each day), a wine merchant, coffee shop, excellent restaurant (Ridgways) and a Tesco Express. The two pubs (The Ship and the Pilot) served good food and an excellent choice of beers and are in staggering distance of the cottage! Less than a 10 minute walk to the sea and just over 15 minutes to the town, it was ideally located for us. We had a fantastic weeks holiday and hope to return next year. Hide
